Subject: Semi-OT: I WANT THIS IN POSER!

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I just found it on youtube and found it quite amazing. Would be great to have a Poser compatible version of it, but I can't even imagine the price for such a gadget...

Bascially it's motion capture, just on a smaller figure. I'd rather it be adapted for a living person for two reasons. One> It would make doing animations in Poser awesone, and two,  doing it on a smaller figure still takes a bit of talent to pose right.

I guess you're right about animations, since I don't do animations, I find this great.

Also, even if I could motion capture myself, I'm pretty sure there's a lot of poses I would like to attemp, that my body is not prepared to do (yoga, gymnastics, etc).

Wasn't there a video of how to hook the kinec with Poser somewhere?

Yeah.... nice item, eh.  I saw that a while ago, and it's amazing.

And also something related:

Would be nice to have a Poser-ised version of

Smart Doll by Danny Choo ( son of shoe designer Jimmy Choo).

Don't think she will be just an animation interface. Probably have a persona in the virtual world as well.

#### Cooperation with Poser

*For now, the file format that is compatible only BVH. *
Export in [BVH-generic form, the pose data QUMARION of the above (STUDIO ACTION) data was hand over to Poser by posing as intended nearly ▲. BVH also to animate, the state as it is almost that you created in STUDIO ACTION will be disclosed to Poser. Great satisfaction.

It can be used for Poser but you have to export to BVH.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

I figured you could export to some compatible format from Qmarion.

What would really be interesting is a direct interface between poser and the figure, via python maybe? This interface could account for the differences in the bone setup, which is quite different from figure to figure.

If I read correctly, the software costs 19.000 Yen, isn't that like 200$?

No idea about the software, but the figure itself costs about 900$ without any software, if I got the price right (98.000 Yen).

The price isn't really surprising, though. I thought about building something like this for myself, but changed my mind as I saw that the nessesary sensors alone cost a fortune.

It should be possible to write something in python. There is a Plugin called Hampelmann which imitates DAZ's Power Pose - it works great, so the only thing missing is the link to the puppet.
