Yes, I kind of thought the mentor answer might be 'no'. So there's no forum for wannabe sellers either?
I'm just so uncertain about this, it's just all rather.... fierce.
I really do want to sell things, and I am reading all the guff - guidelines, policies, rules, articles... everything - that's gonna take a long time, and I don't fully understand it all, I just feel that - if I make one wrong step a ton of bricks will fall on me from on high.

I've got a specific question:
How can you ensure (or even know) that your promo images are of 'good quality'?

Fran.. Read this. It tells you everything you need to know. Was a much shorter guidelline when I started selling here..LOL..If you run into problems with pricing the Marketplace admin will help you with it. And if there's a problem with promos, they'll let you know.. So don't stress about it.
Either program will probably work for promos.. I use Bryce because I don't have the other one..
I can't help if you're doing Poser runtimes because I can never get them to work.. But I can help you package up your obj or obp models if you need me ..
Just don't think about it & jump in with both feet!! It's much easier then you think..

Yes, thanks Ravyn, that's one of the links I've printed out - makes it much easier to read, but it's difficult trying to figure out which bits - if any - apply to me and what I want to sell.

I have too old a version of Poser to be relevant I think, and besides I've hardly ever used it.
Runtimes? Runtimes!!? Arrrggggghhhhh. (lol)

I'm sure Fran..
What you need is a:
Documentation folder with your readme & site License (depending on the site you're uploading to. CP doesn't need one.)
A folder with your product in it. File size varies with the sites. Bryce obp's will eat up those megabytes in a hurry.. I use separate folders for obj files & Bryce.
Promos.. Size varies from site to site so I just use 800 x 800 px for all of them.
It really is easy.. If you need me.. Message me here or on facebook.. I'm on FB more often then I am here...

Thanks Ravyns,
My heart is beating like a hammer - I just posted in the Beta test forum...

Hi,
Yes I'm terrified of the entire thing.
I've wanted to sell some of my models for some time now, but the whole process is just so complex and thus frightening.
I was therefore wondering if there is anywhere I can ask for help with this?
Is there a collection of old hands who would be willing to explain the multitude of questions I have? I know I can email the store staff, but I feel that my lack of understanding is so great that I'd be bothering very busy buisness types for niggling little uncertainties on wording, or just errant stupidity on my part.
I know there is a beta testing forum, but there seems to be such a lot of rules just for that.
I do realise that you need rules, but there's just so much you need to read and understand before you even start.
It's very daunting.
I also need someone I can ask for advice on things, like should I try selling each item individually, or make up a pack. Should I sell each item with just one texture set, or with the 2 or 3 different sets I have ready?
Is that a really naff thing to think of selling? Or is this so good it should be sold on its own... etc etc.
Should I create promos in C4d or Bryce or what? Are the Bryce Promos better or worse than the C4D ones?
I guess what I really need is a mentor of some sort....
Is that anywhere I can get this sort of help?
