As you can see (at the time I' starting this thread), Terai Yuki no longer appears to be available.

Does anyone have any details about this?  Has the creator pulled the figure?  Is she being updated to handle weight-mapping?  Is she available anywhere else?

I chose the Terai Yuki drop down catagory on the search and she wasn't even there under her own catagory. WTH!?

That's odd.  It is an e-Frontier figure.  It is still available from them for 3,990 Yen, which is $40.96 at the moment...

EDIT I don't see the Near Me figure, either.  You might ask at CP as perhaps it's an oversight from their site redesign...

I did a quick Yahoo! search for Terai Yuki and it led me to a URL for Content Paradise which was no longer working :(  I love her and NearMe.  There were also links for "Free Terai Yuki 2 Downloads" but I don't know if a) they are legitimate downloads, b) they are for the figure, or c) are safe websites.  Both figures are really old for the digital world so Content Paradise may have decided to drop them.  Maybe this means new versions of each are on the horizon (hope, hope).

While SMS acquired the bulk of e-Frontier's 3D catalog in the buy out, TY/TY2 and Near Me remained property of e-F.  It's possible SMS and/or e-F have ended their association.

Thanks for the links to the E-Frontier site versions. I've looked some more and didn't find anything legit.

If anyone sees any free versions stay away from that stuff, it's not legit and could be a security risk.

My hope is that the TY2 and NM pages were just accidents from the site change and come back agian. Those are still very original one of a kind figures.

Smith Micro told me this on 9 October:

There's Hana...sort of like Near Me. Granted, not my best work or even my second best...I was kind of rushed and it was my first anime-ish model but uh...yeah, there's her. I forget how closely she matches up with Near Me though...there may be some poke through when trying to use clothing for Near Me on Hana and I'm pretty sure the UV maps don't match.

Hmmm... this may be something worth redoing if there's interest. I am still not great at the anime look but I could give it another go maybe as a personal work that I'd give to the community.  Got so much on my plate though I probably wouldn't be able to start until Novemeber if this is somthing people would want.

I'm sure if you made it people would use it.

I've always wanted NearMe and never got her. So yes, definitely. Something NearMe-ish would be great!

Eventually got a response from Smith Micro.  Sounds like they were having trouble getting a response from e-frontier.

I modeled her but she wasn't intended to look anime.

I was thinking about you saying that your models made you cringe. Nothing cringeworthy about Miki4! :)

A proper Poser anime girl would be great. Go on. Do it!

 I'd be interested in anime-specific figures, teyon. With one caveat; that the design was such that the 'look' could be altered fairly easily. Not the 'anime-real girl' bit, but some thought in the design to get different characters without incredible amounts of morphing. Something like geometry switching to get different eye shapes that don't crumple the facial mesh.....and maybe to support an add-on set of extreme expressions pieces or morphs (yeah, I'm wishing for an out of the box figure that could go either to the Sailor Moon/Rayearth, or Ga-rei-Zero/Linebarrel/Macross end of the spectrum).

Another possibility would be a new head on Roxie and Rex, and morphs to give them more of an anime look......just saying......

Ooh.  I think I bought that a while ago.  Thanks for the heads-up.  TY2 is still one of my favorite characters.
