my rendering of all crew members from three shows

The Borg Queen returns with a few new suprises after assimilating the Gamma Quadrant's Dominion Founders home world, home to the shape shifting race that exist in a liquafide state known as the link, The ramafications of the founders assimilation has created a new type of shape shifting Borg, Which directly threatens Bajor, Deep Space Nine, the Worm-Hole, The Federation and the Alpha Quadrant itself,

Three of StarFleets finest crews come together, joined by the Cardassians and the Romulans and the Changeling leader of the founders of the Dominion and her surviving forces, to work together with the federatiation to stop the Borg, A coperative effort that does not go unnoticed by the Klingon's who quickly object to the Dominions involvment and threaten to break peaceful ties with the federation, threatening a long held peace with the federaton.

If things are not bad enough, Q takes an interest in these events and even though, Q's meddling and flash back assults on Picard, Janeway and Sisko, are a nusance, Q's actions turn out to be helpful in the end in helping Picard to figureing out the secret to destroying the Borg once and for all.

That looks really good.  This was done in Poser???

Did you actually do all the morphs too?  If so, great job!  I'm impressed! 😄

Cool

I like using some of http://www.topazlabs.com/ filtters for stylized effects.

I did this in poser created the morphs as well and textures used a filter in another program to get the comic effect.

You should show this over on the (never ending) star trek thread at DAZ.

I found them very interesting. But I am confused (I know little about comics etc). When I zoomed into the speech bubbles, they are not just white. It looks like their is a texture affecting them. Is this because the image is intended to represent printing on poor quality paper?

The other question is about some of the very small splodgy dark lines (like the Captain's bottom lip). Is this a result of the Render settings?

Tucan-Tiki ( ) posted Tue, 15 October 2013 at 8:40 PM · edited Tue, 15 October 2013 at 8:51 PM

yeah the effect is to simulate paper

the comic effect gives it a drawn effect but also does not leave me restricted by 3D models but in 3D, everything has to be a model.

figured out how to bring dr soongue into the 23rd century

one of the problems is data is dead destroyed in a self sacrifice.

however B4 is nearly like Data, in most respects, even having Data's memories uploaded to him in the last film.

generally most computers come with a demo or a users manual, this one is titled "User's Manual" what happens is laforge finds a chip in B4's crainium and discovers it has a holographic matrix, when activated it turns out to be a hologram of dr soongue who after helping laforge get Data back online, Soongue uploads himself to Data's positronic neural net and takes overr Data's Bodie, sabotoges the enterprise enviromental systems knocking out the crew and escapes in a shuttle to a hidden secret base.

Some of them came from here, some from models came from sharecg others I got from google 3d warehouse a few others I got off a site that rips models, the bridge commander models sight your going to need NifScope a free program to translate these models from the game format to translate them to obj complete with textures.

some models came froma lightwave group a sight that has poser models also got some from stmc star trek models collection sight that also has some now in poser format, I find alot of models on google 3d warehouse great place to check you can get the voyager bridge from stmc a very good version of the bridge i might add but it has issues in poser with backward normals something I can correct given time and playing around with the obj.

I think I have found the right filter to go from 3d to semi 3d comic art effect, and I found a decent turtle neck for the uniforms.

found a sickbay on 3d warehouse but having issues converting it from sketch up to obj or 3ds with it's normals displaying correctly, but it's still a model I can use even if I have to super impose the characters into the scene.

Tucan-Tiki ( ) posted Sun, 20 October 2013 at 1:49 PM

I might try blowing this model apart in truespace and import it in sections, maybe smaller parts of it will display the normals correctly
