Subject: Simplest way to make things glow in Poser Pro 2014

I need to make a character's eyes kind of glow.  I used to have a tutorial.  It sounded so simple, but I think something changed in Poser Pro 2014.  Or maybe I have forgotten what to tweak on.

I am wanting to somewhat mimic the World of Warcraft Blood Elf/Night Elf "glow".  I have lots of "fantasy" eyes that are the solid kind that would work.  Just don't know how to give them the oomph.

Also, I'm not very good at nodes.  Pictures and small words are best for me....the material room advanced tab scares me LOL.

Thanks in advance!

You need to use IDL in order to have self illuminated objects.

In the material room, and in the material zone that you want to glow (like the eyes), plug the map into the Ambient output on the main node and give it a value other than 0.00

Though the Ambient node does work I still find the results less than ideal. What I usually do is use an EdgeBlend and plug it into the Ambient node and it can give you that kind of 3d feel...play around with the settings. Then after the render I'll take t into Photoshop for the final. 😄
