Subject: Possible odd mix-up on order

Larry F ( ) posted Fri, 25 October 2013 at 1:18 AM · edited Fri, 01 November 2024 at 7:01 AM

Hi there,

I bought 3 items tonight on order (112413558) using a credit card. Order went through and I downloaded them. Here's the odd part: While I was downloading I noticed that the offer record said one credit card when I'm sure I used another.  The order has the NAME of one credit card, but paired with the NUMBER of another card altogether (what can be seen of it, of course).

It is as if I forgot to change the name of the card, BUT I would have thought the system would kick it out if this kind of thing might happen, either purposefully or accidentally, meaning putting in mismatched numbers and card styles, i.e., Visa for American Express or Discover or vice versa.

How did this happen? Why did the order go through if it did? If it didn't happen, i.e., I did put in correct card type and other info (name, number, date, etc.,) WHY does it show mismatched card name and number in order acceptance page?  Was it a system delay or some such?

I'll be checking with both cards of course. Thanks so much.

Editing time on this has expired, BUT I did check with the card I thought I had used and it seems I did use it. The order went through of course. Still don't know why order page had the card name and number types mixed up. No harm, no foul I guess.

Hi LarryF,

First I am glad that your order processed correctly.

Secondly the system will go by the card numbers and really not the card name.

Thanks for shopping with us and let me know if you have any issues with the transaction.

TinaK,

Thanks, that is what I figured, just had never seen it before.
