Hello everyone,

Hopefully someone can help me.  I have poser 9 and my Library tab is blanked out keeping me from using any of the features needed to create new scenes.  So I thought that this would be a good chance to upgrade to Poser Pro 2014.  Well I have installed it an it is doing the same thing as my Poser 9.  I also have poser 6 and the library tab works fine.

has anyone heard of this problem? And if so, has anyone been able to fix it.

thanx ahead of time for any help.

Thaarhac.

were is your runtime kept? do you use more than one runtime? On my system I have my PP2010 runtime in with my PP2010 folder and my PP2014 runtime in that program's folder.

you might want to clear your preffs files. there is a tute on SM website for doing this. It might be looking at the old messed up preffs file so you get the same prob in both

Sorry Laurie and everyone,

Forum locked up and I had pressed the send button several times over several minutes. B4 having to reboot my internet to get it to work again.  It looks like it actually posted each time I pressed the send button.

Thanks Ghostship for giving me a sugestion.  And please excuse me for being ingnorant...but what is a "Preff" file and what is the site that the toutorial is found? I'm obviously struggling with the termonology

My Poser 2014 is a full version and was loaded from scratch.  Why would I have exactly the same problem with a brand new full version install.....?

BTW, I didn't uninstall the old versions.  My Poser 9 was made to use a lot of the poser 6 files becaus I have so many.  But I am unable to even open my libraries tab to create a new scene or point old download adons to my PP2014.  So my PP2014 is a useless $500.00 program to me.  I am still able to use my Poser 9 since it is still pointed to some of the poser 6 scene files.  I just don't have the ability to create any new scene files from scratch.  The only file I can work with in PP2014 is the factory state file that opens when you open the program. Library is blanked out denying me access to everything old OR new.

I am just thankfull I can still use Poser....even though is version 6.

Hopefully this is a little more helpful in explaining my delemma.

Regards,

Thaarhac

2 things:

In PP2014, go to Edit>General Preferences> Library, and tick the External box under Launch Behavior; this may allow the external Adobe Air library to run.

The root cause is likely the Windows update that installed Internet Explorer 11.  Go to System Restore and Restore the system to the restore point before the last batch of Windows Updates.  Then install this to keep Automatic Updates from installing IE11...

The other updates cause no problems, so they should be installed...

She wasn't talking about your duplicate posts.  Many other people have posted about this problem, too.  Check the thread she linked.

WandW,

for those of us who have never used the command line, what would the path look like to where we stored the blocker?

 I put mine in users/username/downloads.

I get syntax and location errors because I don't know what I'm doing with it.

I extracted mine to mine to the root of my D: drive, becaue I hate to type.  ;)  In your situation, the full path would be C:usersusernamedownloads.

My command shell opens to my user directory, so if yours does too, enter (follwed by the Return key) :

cd downloads

ie11_blocker.cmd /B

Or from anywhere enter:

C:usersusernamedownloadsie11_blocker.cmd /B
