I don't know if that exists - would be handy though.  You might want to suggest it but don't hold your breath :)

I've referred this up the line. I'll try to have an answer for you soon.

-edit-

I have heard back from a couple of the other mods and coords... No known way to do this.

Is there any interest in this among the general membership? I can always put in a request for this feature, especially since the code people are still working in there. Of course, I will remind you that it took ten years to get an ignore button in the threads, so I'm not sure how effective I can be for you in that regard!  (I just work here...)

Good idea. I like it and welcome not having to see images that are of no interest to me while viewing the gallery.

Well let's add to it then another thing..... I don't want to see nudity, so I get all these really stupid thumbs, why not remove all of the nudity images from the gallery I'm looking at as well? I don't even have a remote interest of knowing people have posted an image with nudity in it, so why bother me with all these thumbs at all?

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Seems like the simple solution is a completely separate gallery.  You go in there and you know what you're getting; don't go in and you know what you're not getting.

The OP isn't talking about nudity, he/she's suggesting a way to block seeing posts to the gallery by people he/she doesn't like.

Maybe this could be extended to block seeing posts to the forums, as well as the galleries.

a "just show art" button.

In the forums, check the "Ignore" button.

I didn't know you could ignore on these forums.

New feature. Check your control panel.

hornet3d ( ) posted Mon, 18 November 2013 at 3:31 AM

I do like the idea of some better control over the gallery, I think I would visit it more.  I do check on a regular basis and like to see what is new but I have no real interest in 'pin up' type renders. No problem with those that do but not what I am interested in.  Sometimes I can cover 30 pages and only find one or two that interest me but I am sure there are many more, it is just difficult to find them in all the other renders.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

There is a nudity tag, so you are warned. I never felt the need to block someone in the gallery. If I don't like somebody, it is easy to renember, then I just ignore him. I don't see a problem here. Unlike other gallery comunities, where you are allowed as many as you can. Some posts are really annoying there. I think leave the Rendo gallery as it is.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 18 November 2013 at 11:55 AM

yes, wiz, please add me to the list of those who want to block artists in gallery here.  I enjoy browsing everything excepting dog/cat photos, hence would like to block that genre somehow.  however, blocking artists who post those would also work.

that would be up to you, you could just not use it, and that would keep you happy.

All I am asking is something that would make me and others by the look of it, happy.

I know, but you still have to browse through all the images before you find anything you want, filtering them out saves a lot of browsing.

Not sure if the feature will ever appear, but that which is not asked for never happens.

Having numerous people post to this thread WOULD be seen by management.

SoulTaker ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2013 at 3:47 PM

thanks basicwiz, I can only hope this works. but I dont know if many will see this here.

just to recap I dont think I am asking the earth, all I would like is a button to click so I would not have to see images by artists I dont like, I know you can filter out the differant gallerys. but I do like to look at them all. Its just some artists I dont.

some have said "I never felt the need to block someone in the gallery. If I don't like somebody, it is easy to renember, then I just ignore him. I don't see a problem here"

thats fine for you. but not for me and from the posts above I am not the only one. also if this change happened it woould not change anything for you. you could still do things your way. so I dont see its a problem.

I am not talking about nudity or saying what is art. I am asking for a way to refine the gallery a little to my liking.

I dont know if this a small or if its a lot of work to bring about

If it's anything like the "Ignore Button" in the threads it will be a nightmare to code. I understand it took the code guys a long time to make that button work. But if we don't ASK for things we want, they never happen.

Let's run it up the flagpole.

FrankT ( ) posted Wed, 20 November 2013 at 2:19 PM

Lets give it a go!! After a very long time of asking, I have just used the ignore button :)  What have we got to lose

I think this is a good idea, and it would help undiscovered artists. By the time someone logs on that might be interested in your work, you are usually buried so deep they will never see you.

But if they were able to get rid of the works that don't interest them, you have a better chance of not being buried and getting discovered by someone that is interested in you.

I think that is a very good point.  I also think it might just help sales here at Rendo as I am more likely to see artist using items that would be of interest to me and I might then just purchase for my own work.  Just as you say above, a lot of this could be 'buried' under the present set up.
