Yes, you can buy it at DAZ3D it's called:-
Dust and Trail Tool
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
seriously, does not posting links do anything good for anybody, even renderosity. if someone wants this they will still find the site, but it's just more work.
What a silly rule.

also ifyou want to do post work, then go to daz and search the word deviney

The best, most flexible and most effective way of inserting such effects is postwork!
If you have those things as props in your scene you will always have problems, especially with unwanted shadow casting.
There is really a very rich variety of brushes and png files which makes it really easy to add those things in postwork.
can't you turn off cast shadows for a prop?

You can turn off shadow casting on just about everything in a scene. And applying a little ambient illumination or plugging shaders into alt_diffuse would cause enough self illumination to prevent shadows from falling on the models. The problem with atmospheric accessories is render time as influenced by transparency maps. If you can find a way to read such maps quickly with IDL rendering then you can incorporate many such objects within a scene without worrying about crashing.
Thanks for everyone's input. I appreciate it. Estherau, looking over at Daz for it. Wish they could post links would be alot easier! :).

Someone beat me to it with that dust tool, but don't mind. Just what I was looking for with those effects. Gotta have it. I don't do animations yet, but will look cool with some spinning tires and burnouts in the back.
Really appreciate everyone's input, and until my next question, have a good one all!

Hey all -
I've seen tons of great vehicle models, but one thing I have not seen in the stores are atmospheric accessories for vehiclular renders.
What i'm talking about here is when you see a car doing "Donuts" or spin outs in a parking lot or just peeling out.
Is an effect like that possible in Poser? What I have in mind is sort of like cloud creation in Flight Simulator X. You can see 3D clouds in the sky, and it looks amazing, with varying degrees of density and so forth as you fly. (That's my other hobby).
So, to keep this short, and to kick it up and down the flag pole, anyone think this is doable?
