Nice one Ronnie.  I doubt if I could duplicate yours without blurs or burning my hands.   Incredible job.   Aloha

I'm thoroughly impressed with everyone's work on this challenge!  I'm finding it ... well ... challenging!!  The water shots from Balmorhea were okay, but the better images didn't fall within the scope of the challenge.  The only one I did that was half a second was SO bright it wasn't useable.

So.  Here's a picture I took on San Antonio's famous River Walk a couple nights ago.  We were there with Lucinda, all of us trying our hand at different techniques.  This is a two second shot at f11 and ISO-100.

These were more fun ... "spin and jiggle" on some holiday lights.

2.5 second exposure, f11, ISO-100.

Hhehehe!!! I love that spin and jiggle thing.  And the other shot came out pretty good :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi ( ) posted Sun, 22 December 2013 at 6:18 PM

I did burn my finger when doing that Errol.  But no badly I add.    I do not usually use matches.  I favour a lighter.

Another keeper.  I like the bulb mode a lot.

costapanos ( ) posted Tue, 24 December 2013 at 1:06 PM

Thank you Adobe. All my night/long exposure shots are done in bulb mode. I feel that I have more control of my image. I usually just adjust my aperture for either more lighting or less.

I understand where you are going with that.  I do the same, and sometimes use ND's as well

@costa: firedancer

Very cool. A bit closer would be better I think, but may not have been possible.

I just upload this shot in my Rd gallery, and, I remember the subject of the challenge of this month, thus, here it is...

The technique uses a zoom-in during a long pose (5")

Small trinket tray with some small items in.   Painted with light I used a small incandescent maglight for this.  WB was set to 4000 or so Kelvin

I will only be getting to the new challenge in the New Year... tomorrow!

This year has flown by - I wish you all plenty of happy photography hours in 2014!

Cfulton, you got pretty steady hands ....     Ronnie, i like your settings, from that I learned something new.  Happy New Year to All

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 31 December 2013 at 8:23 AM

Great challenge, Clive!  I learned a bunch of new things this month.  Only two pictures here to show for it, but still ... it was a challenge!

Looking forward to January's topic.  :)

Good ones Clive.  Been a great challenge this.  I am only too sorry I got here late.

Errol  Thank you my friend, it is always a pleasure for me to know my knowledge is being shared.

Tara, thank you so much, and when you need settings?...  I will always be there for you :)

Happy new year to you all, and let'ts hope the world will be a little more peaceful than it is at the moment.
