Subject: Character Critique Series

Just started critiquing my oversized library of characters.  Primarily starting with the oldest and working my way to the newest.  One thing popped up that has opened my eyes and will make me go back and check over some models I passed by in the past.  My last critique was on MDD's Kaytlen.  In the poser preview window she doesn't look that great.

Here's the screenie

And this is what it rendered out to look like HERE

I must admit that I started out thinking that she was going to look kind of fugly and she ended up being quite beautiful.  Another case of not judging a book by its cover.

A lot of the material room tricks that character designers can use don't show up so well in preview, if at all. The eyes are a particular example here - probably reflection and/or refraction has been used. This effect tends to be worse the lower your Poser version number, and your graphics driver will have some influence as well.

Sometimes pressing that render button requires an enormous leap of faith. ;)

EnglishBob.. fortunately.. I render with reality and luxrender so I can see results pretty fast.  Materials don't start clearing up for a while.. but at least you can tell what the scene/character is going to look like almost instantly.

The eyes could also be from the shadow bias.

WARK!

Thus Spoketh Winterclaw: a blog about a Winterclaw who speaks from time to time.
