Subject: I think this is a failure, but it's still kind of cool

This was supposed to be just something to get my mind off the other superhero costumes I started and never completed. I am not even sure what it started out to be, but this is where it ended up.

The cyborg parts are already UV mapped, textured and rigged to conform. The collar around her head is rigged too. The eye piece is smart propped to her head.

There is a really nice pair of conforming panties with a high French cut leg in the package also. I didn't put them on her for these renders, and if you don't you can see parts of her showing through the suit in the back (which you can see in the last render).

I am thinking of reworking her rigging so that the suit is less flexable and will not bend so much with her. I don't like how the shoulders look mainly. But I am not going to waste my time if this thing isn't something others will want.

Does anybody want this? Does it look like something you would use in a render? If you do, I'll package it and put in the the freestuff...

This is the one you can see her showing around the base of the spinal armor. This is where you need the panties.

There is also a body suit that all of these parts fit over...

Interesting design.  Yes, I think I could use this in a render.  You're using Miki?

EClark1894 ( ) posted Sat, 25 January 2014 at 8:56 AM

Looks like the beginning of a Star Trek Female Borg or Borg Queen.

Yeah, this is Miki.

It is a cyborg for sure, but I don't know about a Star Trek borg...

Here are the panties that go with the suit. These are conforming, but not super conforming.

There was supposed to be a full head helmet too, but I scrapped that.

Nudity tagged, just in case.

Hmmm... I may run with that Borg Queen idea and see where that takes me. If I can put something together, I'll have more to show later. If not, I'll post a thread in the freestuff section to let you know it's been uploaded.

Yeah. I looked at some pics on google of the Borg queen. I don't think I'll be doing that. Kind of requires a head morph I am unwilling and unable to do.

But I did get some ideas I can use to finish this one off with...

Maybe just a female borg then like early Seven of nine.

That's the idea I was going to run with. Should have it modeled and rigged by the end of the day (it's 7am Sunday the 26th where I am).

How does this grab you?

If it's good, I will start packaging it up later on today, and should have it uploaded in the next day or two.

I am attempting to upload it now, but my internet connection is kind of suspect. I don't know if I can get it done. May have to wait until I can get to someplace a little more reliable.

Hi Rokket, tried out the outfit in PP2014 and it looks good.  Just a couple of things I noticed:

The Boots CR2 is pointing to a textures folder but no image associated with it.

textureMap "RuntimeTexturesRokketCyborg Miki

I can edit this myself, however which image file did you intend to use for the boots?

Also I noticed this reference line further down the script which, I believe, doesn't belong.  Didn't encounter any problems with it but just wanted you to be aware that it exists.

The headgear MC6 definitely has a problem, reference to texture maps with an absolute paths.  You may want to check it out.  I substituted the texture with Snarly's EZMetal.

Just out of curiosity, I checked the other MC6 files and they all have absolute paths to folders that don't exist in the runtime package.  I'll play with this further and see if the files will cause problems upon loading.

rokket ( ) posted Sun, 26 January 2014 at 5:29 PM

I got lazy with the editing. I will correct the cr2's in the whole package and upload it later on.

I'll have to check and see which texture I was using for the headgear.

Thanks for checking things out. I will fix things and get it back out there ASAP.

The boots should have two image files associated with them:

the diffuse should have leather_01_DES

The Bump node should have the seamless_palm_skin_texture (set the U and V scale to 0.2)

I will have these all fixed and uploaded within the next couple hours.

I took the file down until I get those issues fixed.

I shouldn't have been in such a hurry to get this out there....

How do I edit an mc6?

You can edit MC6 with a text editor just like a CR2.  Also, the headgear will not accept any materials unless it is parented to Miki, just in case anyone has problems applying MATs in the MATRoom.

No problem alerting you to the file issues.  I can deal with the changes, newbies might not know where to make the corrections.

rokket ( ) posted Sun, 26 January 2014 at 10:40 PM

I will get all of that corrected before I upload it again.

Thanks for the heads up.

I can add this to the many reasons why I don't want to be a vendor...

rokket ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2014 at 6:23 PM

OK!

I fixed the materials problems with the headgear and the collar. I edited all the CR2's and the MC6's to remove the path to my harddrive and point to the Runtime.

The package has been zipped and uploaded and is awaiting approval once more. I hope I fixed it, or I will give up trying to post stuff I make. What a freakin' nightmare!

If there are any more issues with it, please let me know so I can go outside and kick  a stray cat or something out of frustration.

Just checked the files and everything appears to work as they should.  And the relative paths work.  A stray cat has been spared!

rokket ( ) posted Mon, 27 January 2014 at 9:53 PM

That's good, because the stray cat I was targeting is out near my yard as we speak, driving my poor dog nuts...

I am happy that I got everything right the second time around. Next time, I will be able to get it right the FIRST time around...

Thank you for checking things out for me, and enjoy the cyborg Miki...
