I've been working on some simple lace textures for lingerie, hoping to make a little set for sale. I haven't really thought about bump maps or anything so these textures are very basic... However, I was wondering if the seams bother you people? (see image) Personally, I don't mind, without the seam the pattern doesn't match and besides, real lingerie does have seams as well. But, if you'd consider buying these textures, would the seams bother you?

Even real ones haves seams. That is how they make them. I think it looks very good.

The seams wouldn't bother me a bit. BTW, who's that model?

That's Vicki 2 with magnet's beautiful 'Alex' texture and one of the Vicki2 faces that is included in my forthcoming 'Versatile Victoria' set.

Very nice! I'll be watching for that set. Thanks.

The seam would be fine but please do not use nylon thread, particularly in the gusset area. I find that can chaff and cause discomfort.

Which is a backhanded way of saying that the texture is very realistic :)

Oh right ;-) But the lace edges would look rather stupid without the black lines :-)

heyas; THAT? you're worried about THAT!? :) that's nothing.

The seams wouldn't bother me at all... the only thing I personally would probably do is make them look more like a seam in fabric... like have the lace end at a point and then it's solid, like if the lace were stitched onto another piece of fabric, that then had the back piece of lace stitched onto it... oh if my head didn't hurt I could probably explain better... but it looks great Eowyn. :)

Actually now that I looked at it again, it looks like that's what you've alread done, so ignore me... I'm gonna go back to having my head hurt...

C'mon Eowyn....anyone who would mind a realistic looking seam like that should be whapped on the back of the head. It looks AWESOME! Just awesome!

Jen ( ) posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 10:56 PM

I think the seams look fine like you have them. :) The lingerie looks awesome. Great job! :)

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 10:57 PM

Uh Phil...how do you know about those seams? lol I think they look great! Marque

Dizzie ( ) posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 11:04 PM

you've done a great job and it wouldn't be so realistic without the seams..
