Thankyou for your comment - feedback is always welcome ,if not essential.
The current view is simply that, should you wish to fully benefit from what members have contributed then joining the group is not a big ask. Signing in to get access is not uncommon. I have to do it on Renderosity, Daz etc.
Why not register with the forum and decide then ? Hopefully you will find it worth the trouble remembering that adding your knowledge will only make it better. The more people that participate will only increase the knowledge pool.

Sorry, but for my part, it's still a solid "NO".
Sites like DAZ and Renderosity are big, well established, and at least show a preview of what they offer, alowing me to see whether I will benefit by joining BEFORE I register (and give my information to the site, even if the information is minimal).
Also, please note, that the sites you mention are primarely stores, and commercial establishments, and the communities they host are secondary to their main goal.
If I do share my knowledge (without being paid to do so), I'd want to share it with as many people as possible, not keep it under lock and key for some community members only. Isn't it the whole point of sharing knowledge about Carrara, so that more people would be inclined to use the program? - Not just the dedicated users who would register at a Carrara off-mainstream community.
For a new community which, apparently, tries to welcome all, the lock and key looks strange, if not suspicious. To me.
As I said, I am not trying to make you change your mind. Just giving you an outside perspective on how this looks (or can look) PR-wise. :) And a potential reason for why you might see fewer visitors than expected.
But I do wish you the best of luck in this undertaking.
Well its a long time since I posted here - too long I guess. Despite the reservations shown by some ( I assure you there is nothing " suspicious " about our site ) there have been many participating in the forum with some interesting discussion during the past 18 months.
CarraraTors is simply a place for users to focus on Animation.
Right now the 9th "Skill Building Exercise " has been launched that may help improve your skills with MIMIC for Carrara.
A common problem with Carrara Mimic is that it usually results in jerky mouth movements so we are looking to improve this.
Full details can be found on the forum here http://www.bond3d.byethost18.com/index.php?topic=258.0
If you like animation we hope you will signup and participate.
See you there.

Hi
If you are interested in animating and making movies with carrara we have just the place for you - CarraraTors.
If in any way you are like me and always felt something was lacking over at Daz Studio for the subject we now have a site for beginners and pros dedicated to just that . Animating with Carrara !
It is a bit more than that really because it aims to encourage "movie making" as well as learning Carrara's tools and exchanging knowledge so there are opportunities with "exercises" to stretch your skills and Mini competitions for more complex movie like videos. You could start a collaboration for a project too.
If you are interested in any of the above activities please visit us to check out the website and forum and leave a message or two- let us know what you think. We are young and still evolving so welcome your input.
Please note it is best viewed with firefox browser in case you have troubles with Internet Explorer.
