Subject: Where'd Roxie Go?

EClark1894 ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2014 at 6:49 AM · edited Thu, 01 August 2024 at 2:12 PM

I'm doing some modeling on a top for Roxie and there are three objects in the scene. A pair of Boy shorts, the top I'm working on, and Roxie. For some reason  when I click on the mouse button, the viewport starts hopping all over the place and a message tells me somethings locked. I try to look it up in the Blender manual, and I manage to clear it. Not quite sure how, though. But now a new problem. Roxie, and the shorts are missing. Accoring to everything I can see, she's still listed in the scene but I can see her or the shorts anywhere. Where the hell did she go?

Did you check and see if she's on another layer?

Yep. As far as i can tell there's only one layer.

Okay, I don't know what i did, but she came back. It seems to have had something to do with the "View" menu.

I've never heard of the first problem that you described, but as for the second, it sounds like the object was hidden. You could confirm this by looking in the Outliner and checking for the 'eye' or visibility icon. Alt+H will unhide all objects in the scene.

It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

hitting the "/" key on numberpad takes you into local view

(everything except what you have selected disappears)

tap it again to get out

No, that was the first thing i checked out, cause I use it all the time.
