Subject: toe and better feet morphs for the Mil4 Kids....anywhere?

shante ( ) posted Tue, 11 March 2014 at 3:41 AM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 2:57 PM

I got the Mil4 Kids when they fiirst came out and only broke them out of the box to use the RAW creature Morphs  for them(Grebol, Grimlen, Elf and Yodkin). I installed the ++ morphs or whatever the add-on extra morphs are called and was lookng through the dials for some toe articulation but can't find them. Does anyone know of any additional toe and feet morphs for them I can pick up (more than likey a 3rd party product I would imagine), free or for a good price?

A long time ago someone at The Faeriewylde (before they got hassled about kiddie stuff which was really stupid but another story that) offered a zillion morphs and characters for the kids (just don't remember what kids versions or who the creator was. I tried going back but none of my old access names and user information worked and I just didn't want to reapply.

It realy sucks that though supposedly unimesh constructs the morphs and textures for V4 and M4 do not work for the kids and it also sucks they never made a good set of teens for the Mil4 Figure generation either.

It irks me too no end (do I seem angry!?) I have to install and learn D/S just to use the newer and what appears to be better and certainly more versatile Genesis figures.

I always seem to come to the party too late and a few bucks and functional brain cells short!  :(

K4 just isn't a good figure: The sculpting is uninspired, it is hard to scale and thus to age up and the rigging is quite bad, too.

I weightmapped it, but gave up shortly before I was finished because with Genesis 1 and 2 around it was simply pointless.

Sooo.....

Why not use Genesis 1 or 2 if your copy of Poser can do weightmapping ?

AND NO, YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL DAZ STUDIO TO USE GENESIS IN POSER.

Simply install the (Free) DSON importer and then you can load them just like any other Poser mesh by clicking on an icon.

This one took me five minutes to make using Genesis 1:

It's 0.6 Basic Child, 1.0 thin and then scaling the shins along the y-axis to 112% and scaling up the feet a bit. The clothing "auto-converted" in 5 seconds to the new bodyshape.

Daz also sells custom morph packages for older children and teens for both Genesis 1 and 2, so whatever age you need, it's no problem for Genesis 1 or 2.

I've used ColorCurvature's M4 to K4 utility to get tween sized figures. Gives you access to all the M4 morphs and clothing on your kids. Works pretty well but I don't have a lot of use for it at the moment.

I'm in Poser 7 at the moment.

I was led to believe the DSON converter when it first came out was not worth the effort. I suppose DAZ cleaned up the glitches?

I guess I am going to hve to convert to a newer version of Poser.

PoserPro 2012 app. At best I got Poser 9 when it released for $40.

Looks cool though especially with the free added clothes converter stuff.

Thanks,

The M4/K4 mixer also works fine to mix K4/V4.

It's one of the most useful utilities I ever bought.

In PP2014 there is an issue, but it is easily fixed. "Follow Origins" is automatically checked on all converted clothing. To make them work in PP14, one must invert all 4 checkmarks in the clothing properties screen. "Include morphs," "include scales," "Match enhd points," mus all be checked, and "Follow origins" must be UINchecked. If you do this, the clothing snaps to the figure perfectly!
