Subject: How do you apply injection morphs? -- beats me!

moushie ( ) posted Mon, 24 March 2014 at 7:00 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 6:57 PM

An elementary mystery that's beyond me: I can't figure out how to apply injection files to a Poser Victoria 4. Take face/head morphs. Having downloaded, unzipped. and planted the PZ2 files in the Poser Poses library -- what next? Was that correct so far? Clicking on the figure's head and selecting the PZ2 file doesn't do anything. Can some patient person please explain, step by step?

Thanks.

What you are doing should work. Have you first injected any required (usually DAZ' Morphs ++ ) morphs into Vicky?

And initialized her?

Oh, I guess that's it! Got to use the version with all the morphs present.

Thanks for the help. (Not sure though what initailizing means.

When you install V4, there should be an Initialize script placed on your desktop (assuming you're using windows), titled "Update Victoria 4". Pretty sure that is what they're referring to here. Just double click to run it, and your morphs should work.

Thanks. Too late to install. I did that years ago and no longer have the app.

Again, thanks anyway.

There should be a copy in the !DAZ folder in the libraries folder of the runtime you installed V4 to, it's called DzCreateExPFiles.

I made the original enquiry and am grateful for the help. I did not write the comment about sarcasm and regret the tangent taken.

Unless I've overlooked something, what a pity the generous folks offering free shapes don't just create a single morph. This seems like counting sheep's legs and dividing by four.

Signing off ...

The problem is that it is not legal to distribute a spun-dialed morph in that way unless it is encoded against the morph packge; it's far easier both to distrubute and to use as a simple pose.

If you purchased V4 from DAZ (as opposed to getting it on a magazine or book disk) you can redownload it from your product library, should you ever need it.  They use zip files now....
