Subject: Using Michael 4 to create a "David 4" morph?

With David having returned to the Daz universe in Generation 5, I was surprised—and quite disappointed—not to have seen him in Generation 4. I was wondering if anyone here has ever used Michael 4 to create a "David 4" morph, and if so, what are the head and body parameters that closely match him as in David 3 or David 5? I would like to be able to use him as a base in the same manner as Hiro 4, The Freak 4 and even Guy 4.

There's not really an answer to that question since there was never an official David 4 released. So none of the morphs would be able to be used as a base. You would need to make content for the M4 base and then add whatever morphs you need to simulate a David-like character build. You could probably get pretty close with the M4 morphs++ package, the same way you can get close to a Freak shape. 

There may be a way to transfer the David 3 or David 5 shape to the M4 shape via DS and probably the help of zbrush or mudbox (I don't think blender has the ability to project shapes onto a mesh but I don't know. I know it can be done in zbrush). But if you were to go to all that trouble, might as well just use the real David 3 or David 5.

Probably the most important feature of David was the scaling so he's shorter than the standard M4. DAZ didn't release a product to scale M4 like Stephanie 4. I did make a product at DAZ for M4 named Santo International that includes scaling m4 to the size of David 3 (using the same method as Stephanie 4), which works in both Poser and DS. It has some custom body shapes that would require you to use copy the morphs into the clothing though. It uses ExP tech to add custom channels to M4, so you can use scaling or the body shapes with any other M4 morph.

There are a number of different ways to build a "David 4".

As JimTS pointed out, colorcurvature's M4K4 script does a real good job.

I just resize and reproportion M4 using Rocketship3d's Universal Sizing Apparatus:

This product helps you size up any figure that you want - it also adusts scale to either the DS scale or the Poser scale.

I have been quite pleased with it - I replace the original Gen 3 textures with M4 textures via Texture Converter 2 and EZskin, and any of the clothing conversion systems for clothes (Xdresser, Wardrobe Wizard or the Fitting Room in Poser 2014).

Thanks for all of the ideas - I'll look into all of them. Until now, I had never thought of creating a new character based on Michael 4 by morphing multiple characters into him. I have already done the same with Victoria 4 by morphing two, and sometimes even all three, of her friends into her: Aiko. Girl, and Stephanie.

Uh, Aiko 4, the Girl 4 and Stephanie 4 are already just morphs of Victoria 4.

If you have M4Enhanced or another product that allows M4 to take V4 morphs, S4's scale dials work perfectly with M4. I agree that M4 totally got shafted though. :(

You just made a sale with me. I almost never use any part of S4 other than the scaling. Having the same sort of quality scaling for M4 is great.
