Subject: Cafe closed for remodeling

In case no one has heard the carraracafe is down. Holly has a thread running on the DAZ forum about it.  I of coarse can't participate because-

"Unfounded speculation which is meant to be disruptive is also removed." chohole.

That also covers truths that make DAZ look bad. That is what I liked about the carraracafe forum, as long as I watched my language and didn't attack someone, I could express my opinion. More over, isn't life disruption? Mundanity brings boredom, boredom bring disinterest.

The carraracafe forum was deader then this. I like a really active forum, one that is almost like a chat.

I miss the old carrara crew that is on the DAZ forum.

Even though this is a low-activity forum, renderosity strikes a nice balance between the mandatory "everything is awesome" line of you-know-where and the "everything is awful" line of many public blogs.

I am not so much into blogging, however. Anti-social me! Whenever I try to use the forums for information, I have to ask for tech support to tell me which control-alt-shift-click will take me to the information I want.

hya manstan, thanks for the headsup :) I like this forum but what puts me off is having to log in to see anything. It's like fishing you know, you just can't go fishing for ten seconds, you have to get up the night before, get your bait then get up before the next day, walk to thebeach in the freezing cold....

 well you know,

there woud probably be a lot more people here if you could just land on the page and see what's going on, it's like looking in the window of a shop.... it entyices you in

for carrara cafe, it's great what holly has done but it is very hard for me to find what I need there..... it's just me I think, but I like something simple and easy to read like the daz carrara forum, it's a good model to wotk from (work from)

hope you are well

Can't say I have ever found a forum with a good search engine lol Google is still my freind

I don't blog, I've never felt that self importent I have an opinion, I don't mind shairing it; big surprise, but it certainly isn't blog worthy.

I also don't mind showing what I am up to; I have a thread here just for that. I'll work on 6 or 8 scenes/scene eliments in a day. Only about 1 in 100 of the scenes I start actually ever make it to final render.

I don't know but I am sure Holly is up for ideas. Me? I want an easy to use gallery, with comments; and notifications, with an 18+ and wip sections. I mean I do a lot of portraits and like retro erotica.

I was working on one last night and today using genesis and the resort lagoon; working with under water lighting. Screwed up and was saving over my previous save when carrara glitched and I lost the scene  Knew I should have made that last save a "B".

blog? :) one of the best things I ever did was start an illustration blog, I abandonned it last year as it achieved what I wanted (I improved my image making enough to get an agent)

I started doing illustration friday, where you illustrate a topic, people come and look at your work and say ;gee that's good' then you go and look at their work and go :wow, I really like how you used that colour in the right eye' etc.

But eventually you get an audience, people who you like, and then you start to try really hard to improve your work, becaue these pepole are 'nic e' and you don't want to serve them up crap, because they take the time to visit your work, so eventually you get better by small leaps and small bounds,

you can tell that people are coming by their comments and also the stats on the blog, so that gives you soemthing to work for,

eventually you get to a point where revisiting people's blogs who have visited yours becomes very time consuming so you give up, .... or I used to turn off the comment button which would drive people nutso

But wouldn't an illistration blog be more like a portfolio?

headwax. ( ) posted Tue, 15 April 2014 at 11:21 PM

ah, it's a work in progress for me :)

once you have a mass of images the 'best' ones become your portfolio

of course what you think is best changes as time goes by. for eg, half of this stuff wouldn't get in the vid these days , just cause my taste has changed ;)...

The Cafe seems to be up again. It looks like Holly is doing some Spring cleaning. The site's already loading much faster for me than it has in the past.

WOw, I haven't been here in ages. Rendo STORE yes - Rendo Forums, I kind of forgot about... I added the menu link for this forum to Cafe.

Sorry for reviving an old thread...

Holly (wonder if I can change my user name here...?)
