I'm not buying more poses from DAZ. Work fine in Studio, but not carrara, errors every time. So now I even have to pose figures in Studio to use in carrara.{ that is 6 sets of poses from DAZ for genesis and G2F/M in DUF that just error in carrara}

Could DAZ have gimped C8.5 any worse?

Just what the hell did I pay for?

Let me give you a run down. In 3 months I have purched; including C8.5, 14 itmes. 6 worked great right out of the box, 3 did not work at all and I got my voucher for 2. And 5 I made do with or am trying to fix; this includes C8.5.So that mean less then half my purchese for DAZ didn't work right out of the box. Does DAZ still do Q&A?

So why do I keep throwing money at this company? Do you think I'm going to reup the Pclub when it runs out here in a couple of weeks?

Has any one heard any news of bug fixes for C8.5? I'd really like to be able to use what I paid for.

And what about C9? Is it dead on the vine or something?

Sorry, trying to work a scene and I sware I have tripped over every bug DAZ introed in the release version. And it is really looking like none of it will get fixed. Does DAZ really think I'm going to play this game again with C9. I can see why C9 is dead, after what DAZ did to C8.5 and never fixed any of it who in their right mind would buy C9?

I gave up on DAZ PC club last year. I kept finding the free stuff boring (sorry, guns and garbage cans don't do it for me).

When I got the reports of glitchy behavior with C8.5, I just didn't bother.

I still watch DAZ, because they have many good things at a good price, but more variety can be found at the "other guys'" sites.

Yes, well, if you can catch C8.5 for $50 or less it is well worth it.

The boon to the Pclub is all the $1.99 stuff; one issue, lacking Q&A.

An example. I bought a bundle; small one, wanted the other 2 of the series too. Got the one and hemed and hawed about the other 2. Next day it was too late, missed out on a bargin, or did I. It came with 2 clothing sets and 4 pose sets. I had to tweak the clothing; easy conversion, to get them to pose well with the figure. And I can't use any of the poses in carrara. DAZ is pushing G2 and I can't use a lot of it in carrara.

Agree about the freebies, most I would consider .99cent items. Others I have downloaded but have no idea what I might ever use them for; if anything. 

The Pclub is worth it till you get all the good $1.99 items, I mean I could still drop $80 or more if I had it to throw away. But the coupon is practically worthless, I really had to pull some hens teeth to find anything I wanted to use it on. And it's apparently just 3+ months a wack, no month option. I might be able to do $7 a month but not $21 in one month.

But with what all I have bought in the last 3 months, what I have returned for refunds, and what works but needed tweaking, I'm leary of buying anything from DAZ.

I might hate DAZ, but I love DAZ customer service. The one thing about DAZ I can't brag on enough.

Ok, added 3 more sets of hair, one more romantic pose pack; which of coarse does not work in carrara, a scifi bike and some west park assory goodness; inset mad scientest laugh.

The hair is no issue, I mean I need a better selection of more up to date hair. I know Jack's items are good, I haven't loaded the scifi bike but being a prop it should work fine. But I don't know what is up with the newer DAZ poses not working in carrara, I get the typical one line, no info carrara error warning for any poses made in the last couple of years. I'd get refunds but I don't want to take a chance of DAZ getting fed up and stopping giving me them.

I like using Studio for a few things, but not dressing and posing my figures to use in carrara. It seems the C8.5 DAZ released was about 2 years out of date before it was released. This just smacks of out sorcing. I suspect DAZ out sorced C8.5 2 years ago which would explain why the version they released was 2 years out of date; as in the never updated whom ever they out sorced it to. That would also explain why last minute tweeks by DAZ broke so much.

And has anyone heard anything from DAZ about C8.6, C9, or if carrara even has a future?

But if DAZ thinks I'm going to spend any more on Carrara updates till we get fixes for C8.5; at least fixs for everything they broke in the release version, they can suck my big toe.

Thing is I know where DAZ's development is going now, and has little to do with apps and everything to do with content delivery; CMS&DIM. I'm sure that keeps DAZ's app developer busy.

Re Poses not working in Carrara (or anything): I've already posted a something  in Daz Carara forums (Bratpiper there) re this under some heading about not using the DAZ installers. Basically I install EVERYTHING MANUALLY since I've a mish-mash of DS/Poser/Carrara tangled up., plus I reorganise everything so I can find it under sensible structures,

Anyhow the basis of your problem of files not working (usually get a message like "can't find the file", even though it definitely is there!) is in the duf file itself . Open the duf in a text editor (Notepad++ is great because you can batch edit whole groups of files in one go)  and look very near the top of the file for the files' address line. That address MUST be the same as the file itself. Note that for many files you purchase from DAZ this just is not true! I can only assume that Studio does not use this line - but Carara definately does. Edit that line and resave the duf file and it will work - I've had 100% success rate.

Note the duf's might be compessed, just  unzip with winzip or similar.

I figured that was the issues with textures, but for poses it's the natorius "carrara has encountered" error warning. :(

Don't worry about the message - fix is the same :-)  As I say, I've not yet met any poses where this hasn't worked. The address has to 100% accurate though, I've had cases where I kept making stupid typo's or get the path slightly wrong and it took me two or three attempts to spot what's wrong. But Hey! It's Carrara, you expect it to work off the bat? LOL

Considering that is what I paid for, yes.
