Here is the new one for week 4 of 'Do it to it'.

Thanks Melinda (mbz2662)!

Looks like this will be a barrel of fun!

LOL! Carin there is a few headaches there eh?  Here's my take on Melinda's shot, just a desaturation and black and white gradien map, and a few tweaks contrast, sharpening.

Meisiekind ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2014 at 9:06 AM

I love the B&W Ronnie!!!!

Thanks Carin.  I don't do much monochrome, I look at it as a "Living for today" thing, I did all the black and white years ago, because that is a ll we had hehe!

Is that a case of a little going a long way, Carin?!

I do miss the smell of the darkroom, Ronnie.

Photomatix pro 5's tone compressor, and duplicated layer in Photoshop CC, turn that to B&W, set blend to multiply, and reduce opacity to 50%.  High pass sharpen.

Used a variety of filters from VirtualPhotographer and Adobe to include Paint Daubs and Canvas Texturizer to give it a painterly look.

Oh, you all have done some neat things with those wine barrels. It is great to see how differently we can interpret each photo.

I especially like my personalized barrel of wine :) lol.

Adobe_One_Kenobi ( ) posted Thu, 22 May 2014 at 2:41 PM

Very cool images everyone.

Here is a quick one from me.  I duplicated the image, embossed one layer, sharpened and adjusted the contrast on the other, then pasted them together adjusting the opacity, then a quick color enhance..and, for the heck of it, I rotated (all using The Gimp).

Meisiekind ( ) posted Fri, 23 May 2014 at 3:23 AM

Oh gosh - you guys are super creative! What fun!!!

What is that dripping sound down there ...?

I had 5 different layers; original, lighting, man, torch light, barrels on the right.

A few other tweeks along the way too.

auntietk ( ) posted Fri, 23 May 2014 at 2:05 PM

@ Melinda ... that totally works on its side.  I would never have thought to do that.  Excellent idea, and well done!

@ Clive ... Outstanding!  Love it!  You make my mind go ...  :)

Candlelight, wine, and a little music.  (Thanks for the inspiration, Clive!  You reminded me of a brush I made of a violin player a long time ago.)  :)
