Subject: Can you copy the path from the Library Window?

Are you able to copy the directory path from the Library window?

Depending on your settings you will see the path of the current object in the Library window in the lower section of the window. It behaves like something that can be copied and pasted, but when I Ctrl/C what gets copied is the list of settings for the current actor. Is this the way it works for you?

Yes, in the details window, click once on the line containing the path, then right click, select all, then right click Copy. That will puth the full path on the clipboard

Well, this is odd because this has never worked for me, even through several flavors of operating systems and Poser versions: Windows XP and Poser 8, Windows Vista and Poser 8 and 9, and now Windows 8.1 and Poser 9. When I try to copy the path, what gets copied is the list of parameter settings, e.g.:

Body    0    scale    Spline    1.0000    10
Body    0    xScale    Spline    1.0000    7
Body    0    yScale    Spline    1.0000    8
Body    0    zScale    Spline    1.0000    9
Body    0    yrot    Spline    0.0000    2

Sorry, it only seems to work with the external (air) library - not with the flash version

ElZagna ( ) posted Tue, 03 June 2014 at 5:02 PM

"External (air) library"? What's that?

External library is an option in Poserpro (2012/2014). It is the 64 bit version of the library running as a separate process.

Yes, the Poser UI has been written in an unfortunate way that many keystrokes are intercepted and the window in which they occur is ignored.

The external (AIR) library is able to get its own keystrokes, thank you very much.

The embedded is not. It is at the whim of the main UI and that is a problem.

Mouse wheel interference also happens with plugins - this is truly annoying.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

The External Library will run under both 32- and 64-bit environment.

Thanks for the explanation, BB. Is there any chance that the AIR library will become part of regular Poser?

In a separate thread here, I've asked about the problem of a right click inside the Library window freezing that window. Is this perhaps related to the keystroke capturing issue?

I really don't know. I have some evidence that they tried to remove the curent Flex/Flash/AIR library (which was also used in Anime Studio) and replace it with something new, but it mysteriously has not appeared, except for a tiny reference to it in beta tester's notes. Something was said about it (new library) not being released but we could turn it on by hand-editing a preference somewhere. That's all I know. From the reference, I'd guess that they would like to discontinue the AIR library, but it remains, and it's the one I prefer.
