For as long as i can remember i am struggling with this...

I rendered London with IDL STUDIO using the supplied IDL specular light...and one IDL infinite light (also supplied)

Only as you can see the white dot in her eyes is not supposed to be dead centre in the middle of her eyes!...in all the promos that i see of her the white dot is slightly positioned either above or to the sides...why is that not happening here?...

How can this be fixed...i know its possible because as said...i see it in all the promos also of other characters...what is the trick?...

Thx for viewing.

You'll have to restate what you want, because you suggest that the highlight is not supposed to be dead centre, and it isn't. Dead centre means absolutely positively centered, with no measurable deviation. I clearly see that the highlight overlaps the edge of the pupil, and is not centered. I also see (comparing left and right) the highlight is not offset in the same direction of the two eyes, indicating that either the light source relatively close to the figure, or that the eyes are diverged slightly (as they do in real life.)

Where do you think the highlight should be, given that the light source is infinitely far away, resulting in parallel rays of light reaching the figure.

I tried to find some real photos. Here are a couple that look like your render.

it appears in OP's post that pupil has specular, but cornea et al. have got no specular nor realistic reflection.  perhaps IDL studio has no scene objects to reflect.

Notice how in these promos the white dot is located above the pupil!...

How is this achieved?...

By moving the light higher, or tilting the head down.

Notice the shadow from the nose. The light is above her head, and to the right (our right).

...or close the eyes, no more highlights! 😄
