Monday morning I woke up with a nose bleed. I'm not sure why, but i do have high blood pressure. Anyway, I managed to get it to stop and went to work with no problems, but Monday night, it started again, and I ended up in the ER getting my nasal passages packed until Friday.

Iended up losing a lot of Blood and I'm sill oozing wheever I swallow ortalk or do antthing remotely stressful like eating, so I thought I'd let you guys know I probably won't be posting fo a day or two.

My father had something similar, well the same symptoms anyway.  Not very pleasant but all you can do is take it easy for a while.  Relax, your health comes first and I wish you all the best.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Might not apply to you but here is what I experience...

Used to have that problem when I lived in SoCal. When we would get hot winds off the desert would dry out my nose and would crack the skin, etc. Cotton swabs and a little love lube aka Vaseline in the nose every morning and the issue was solved.

Now live in Reno where it is dry all the time and coat the inside of my nose every couple of days to prevent nose bleeds.

I am the opposite of you, border line low blood pressure 100-105 over 55 to 60 and I am 64 yrs young and high blood pressure is rampent in my family. Took me a while to figure out why I look more like the old milkman then my dad

You might be more creative with less blood and thus less oxygen getting to your brain.  try and pose anyway. it will relax you and get your BP down.

They reckon the reason women live on average 5 more years than men maybe because women bleed regularly. If you transfuse someone they get sludging in the microcirculation which blocks up blood vessels.  Some physicians bleed their pateint's regularly. I know, it sounds like voodoo from the dark ages.

I had a nose bleed problem as a kid. I had to go in and have them coterize the blood vessels in my nose. It sucked, but it was over fairly fast and the last time I had a nose bleed, it was because a drunk broke it...

Get well soon. And get some rest.

I had nose bleeds as a kid as well. Some of them were really, really bad and wouldn't stop for an hour or so. I did have to go to the doctor a few times because some wouldn't stop or let up but once my allergies started fading away so the the nose bleeds. I think they completely stopped by the time I was 10 and I haven't had a single nose bleed in over 20 years.

Get better E.

Well, This morning I had to go get my nose unpacked. I swear I don't know which is more painful cause they both hurt like hell. At least after getting my nose unpacked it feels better.

Just wanted to give you all an update. Unfortunately, my doctor has basically told me to just still still and watch TV for a couple of days until I heal. I wouldn't have thought that my computer was strenuous activity, but a couple of my episides were here, so...

Catch you later.

Update:

Still on the mend. Missed a couple more days of work unfortunately, but couldn't be helped.  But most of the weekend has been event free. Unfortunately, i did have a brief setback Saturday night. I had to go to the store and when i went out to my car to start it the battery was dead. I had left the lights on... for some odd reason. Anyway I couldn't get a rige to the store until that night, and I had to strain a little more than I'm used to. So on the way back home I did start to bleed a bit. I spray some Afrin up my nose ( not the white power that Rorrkonn suggested) and the bleeding stopped. Hopefully I go back to work tomorrow.

pumeco ( ) posted Sun, 29 June 2014 at 10:18 AM

I'm no mechanic but it could be an alternator prob if your battery died in the time it took you to use the store, might not be charging the battery.

Glad to hear the nose thing is clearing up!

Eric Walters ( ) posted Sun, 29 June 2014 at 3:19 PM

I hope this resolves quickly!

Yeah, I'm still bleeding from the nose. Going in to work tomorrow anyway I hope. I'm taking some tissue and Afrin with me. And I'm going to call my doctor in the morning.

Afrin & all those kind of medicines ,could be the cause of ya nose bleeds.
Some Docs say never use Afrin & all those kind of medicines.

As far as I know all meds can have side effects.
Since it's blood related. I would ask Doc about any Meds ya taking that's blood related.
first and then the rest.ya just never know.
ya never know maybe one of ya meds is the cause.
I've had xMeds causee my legs and kidneys to hurt.

I don't know what ya job is but.
Coal Minors pay to high of a price for that job.
Saw mills would be ruff.
I can't stand to Air brushed enamel paint.

since it's done this in summer.
Allergies is a suspect.

One of my friends took them a long time to figure out
that chocolate was the cause of their headaches

and a real odd thing I'm not allergic to carrots
but I'm allergic to waffle house carrots
Guess it was the species of there carrot ,who knows

Hope you get better. I get nose bleeds all the time, but mostly in the winter/spring. Putting a good moisturizer in my nose helps a lot (the air is very dry here).

A good friend went through something very similar to what you are experiencing. Had his nose packed for two weeks (they used tampons). Hasn't had any problems since.

Good luck!

Don't guys get nosebleeds when faced with an incredible example of womanhood?  I know they do in the anime cartoons! I'm just saying... :D

Thought I'd give you guys a bit of an update about my nose. I haven't had a nose bleed in almost a week and a half, but I've had to wear a nasal pack on one side of my nose since last Monday. My doctor told me to keep my nose moist, ande gave me a prescription to get. Also, because I have high blood pressure, i take aspirin with my BP medicine and I've had to stop taking that until i can confer with my primary doctor. I go back on Friday to take the pack out of my nose.

Well good news that you have gone a while without a nose bleed for a whule but sorry to hear about the other problems.

Not sure what you do at night but some sort of humidifier might help to stop the air drying.  The small ones are cheap but go careful if you get the type that use essentail oils as some help high blodd pressure and other don't.  I regularly use an ultrasonic one, so that it can be left on safely while I sleep,  as I develop a nagging dry cough if the air becomes too dry.

Whatever needs to happen I hope it happens soon so that you can feel better.  Life is streesful enough without and added worry.

All the best

So Clarkie's nose bled with profusion,
But fear not, here's Roxie's solution.

When you feel a bleed coming on,
Imagine me naked, problem gone.

The blood will rush south you knows,
Diverted away from your poor widdle doze.

Erection is surely a lot more fun,
So like I said, problem gone!!!

My daughter had this problem so they cauterized the bleeding blood vessel. No more nose bleeds.

My husband also has the problem and it is also a bad blood vessel but when the Dr went in to cauterize it, his vessels are too small and it didn't take. So he still gets nose bleeds every now and then. Not as bad as yours, mind you. But he too, uses baby asperin to keep his blood thin since having his heart attack 6 years ago.

I hope your nose gets better soon.

Thank you Esther, I'll have to continue that comic of yours, Angie seems pretty badass after reading episode one!!!***

Later,
Roxie - Girl With Blade

Funny thing is, while Clarkie is glad to be rid of it, here's me wishing I could have a good nosebleed now and then!

I've always suspected by default that the reason women live longer than men is because of their, well, periodic blood loss.  It was interesting that Esther mentioned it.  When you think about it, your blood stays with you all your life unless you lose some of it, and if you lose some of it, your body generates new blood to replace it.

New blood has to be better than blood you've had all your life, especially when your own body generates it.  And although I've never read any such thing, I also reckon that a good nosebleed is way to shake off stress and pressure.

That's probably a load of bollocks, but like I said, just a suspicion.

EClark1894 ( ) posted Mon, 14 July 2014 at 7:16 AM

The life cycle of one individual red blood cell in a human body is 100-120 days. The liver, and spleen are constantly purging old blood from our bodies.

pumeco ( ) posted Mon, 14 July 2014 at 12:21 PM

pumeco ( ) posted Mon, 14 July 2014 at 12:22 PM · edited Mon, 14 July 2014 at 12:22 PM

I still reckon that's why women live longer though.
