Subject: Trying to track down a prop

Mornaric ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2014 at 2:03 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 9:36 AM

G’day, all!

I’m trying to help a friend recreate a picture of hers, but she can’t find one of the props she used. I thought I recognized the stone wall in the attached picture, but I can’t seem to find it either. If it helps, I know there is also supposed to be an earthen or stone path of some sort involved. The far background of course is from the Daz Cyclorama - it’s the wall prop in front that has me scratching my head.

I thought I would ask here first before trying to replace it with something similar, like the Moon Gate found at Daz3d.

Any thoughts on this are most appreciated!

Mike

Look up the textures and see if the Maker revealed some clues there that might help

So is that TTFN or TANSTAAFL?

Great minds think alike Jim!

That was my first thought too, but sadly, the names are rather generic.

path.jpg and circle-wall.jpg, along with the relevant bumpmap files, are the only real clues.

I have a copy of the original save file, so I'm able to look a little more indepth into it. The only other thing that I see is a texture folder called ruin, and inside that is stonesmall.jpg and it's bumpmap file. My guess is that's for the rock she's sitting on.

Will keep looking at it, but so far everything I see in the save file is recognized. I know the body texture used, along with the hair and far background.

I do appreciate the thought and your quick reply!

try Stonemason  search  mayhap  it  is  his  work

I agree, Sa_raneth. That was my next thought. Unless it was an older item, I didn't see it when I searched for it. I thought I'd hold off contacting SM until I tried this way first.

Thank you for the response!

I thought I had just seen this recently but checking the sites I usually do a quick check the closest I can find is here http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/garden-gate/99062/ it's not exact but very close.

Thank you, RedPhantom. You're right, it is close.

I will pass that link on to my friend. If she is looking to update, this might be a way to do it.

Much appreciated!

Unless my old eyes deceive me, she is sitting in front of a moon gate. This might help you in your search.

Mine deceived me as well Charlie43. I thought so too until I looked closer at the Moon Gate. It's stones seem to be thinner, and it also doesn't have the same bottom that the one I'm looking for does.

But another good suggestion to keep in mind. I do now have a couple of alternates I can show to my friend. Thank you for the thought!

I did look at it and my first thought was something from Vikike176, particualrly as there was a mention of a path in the OP.  I have a number of the garden products and they are great.  I did do a search but the Garden Gate was as close as I could get.  Not the same but a good product that I have used in the past.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

IIRC, Aery Soul may have created a prop similar to this gate as a freebie quite a long time ago.  For the life of me, I can't remember where I stored it.

Hmmm, I haven't found the original, but this looks like another option in that the stones can be used independantly. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/lost-stone-path/86558

Did you search for a ReadMe using "ruin", "gate", "stone", "circle", etc?

Do you have this prop?  If so, load it into a scene, and using the auxiliary camera, back off and up so that we can see the whole model.  A preview capture should be sufficient.
