Is there a way to make these car models work in Poser?...i tried importing them as .obj but all i get is the car totally unshaded and untextured...

Some of these do work, but I always choose the ones with .obj files and they need to have been uv mapped. I'm not good at uv mapping, for someone that is, uv maps can be made.

Most of them have to be scaled up considerably to work in Poser. At least that is what I have found.

Hope that helps a little.

They often import untextured and certainly without good Poser shaders. But they mostly come with textures you need for dashboards and lights. It's usually easy to load the textures and apply good Poser shaders (assuming you have them to apply or know how to make them.)

For the glass, paint, or chrome, you don't need (or want) textures at all. These are entirely one (or no) color and they shine according to the Fresnel equation.

I made this image from one of those obj files just the other day.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

*Any file conversion possiblilities..* Like Bill's and Nightwind excellent suggestions suggests not really needed. Though there is a very good chance of your machine getting hitting by a nasty if you download from the site mentioned. Thats, as the example screenshot shows, because a lot of the stuff there is stolen.

And talking of this stuff, beware of a Spanish sharing blog that looks like this. I've heard from a couple of poser people after downloading from there they where whacked by some real big baddies - in 1 case Cryptolocker. Biggest irony - the stolen model there is actually a freebie! In the 1st situ with the spainish one the guy was a newbie and fortunately with some help he got his stuff back. The 2nd - the one hit by Crytolocker - wasn't so lucky, his externals copped it. As well as losing stacks of poser stuff and runtimes, he also lost years of CP purchases and most of his photos and artwork.
