This is Melinda's (mbz2662) newborn nephew, Elias. The photo is titled 'Daddy's hand'.

She has been trying to figure out what to do with this photo... maybe someone will come up with something inspiring.

As she says, have fun!

Thanks Melinda but I think I will skip the DITI this week. I wouldn't feel comfortable 'photochopppping' this one as any changes other than slapping on a frame or filter could easily offend.

If you all would prefer another photo, I could do that.  I didn't intend to make anyone uncomfortable with photo-fiddling.  That said, I don't think I would be offended with your efforts.  Thanks.

Just to explain myself..........I am a photographer who strives to do everything in-camera. I shoot totally manually to expose a frame exactly how I intend. The only times I touch PS is to reduce the size of a photo to comply with rendo rules.........or to have fun! I would hate to 'have fun' with such a precious moment

I can't bring myself to do anything "funny" with this, either.  It's such a beautiful and touching moment!  However, I have no compunction about postwork ... :P  So here's what I would have done to it if it were mine.  Hope this is okay, Melinda!  :)

That's beautiful Tara :)

.,,and Thank you Andrew.  I am still much an amateur, and I often get shots not quite up to what I expect and disappoint myself :)  But I strive to learn everyday.

Thank you Melinda for the Diti picture of Elias.

Helle (helanker) takes us down to as house in the forest for DiTi Week 15.

Who or what will we find there?

Frequency separation. Also did a bit of it on the wee one to help with the blemishes on the head :)

This can help if you ever want to try it on a model's skin! I mainly do it, and a few other things in PS for the high end retouching side of my world.
