Subject: Cannot Pay Through PayPal

quiteroom ( ) posted Tue, 14 October 2014 at 5:41 AM · edited Thu, 03 October 2024 at 9:23 PM

Each time I try to pay through Paypal all I get is my normal Paypal log in page and not the normal bondware link so I cannot pay. Please fix this issue Thank You in advance

quiteroom ( ) posted Tue, 14 October 2014 at 6:15 AM

After just recieving this in email "This is a courtesy notification to let you know that your unpaid order #112606786 placed on 2014-10-14 will be deleted if not paid in full soon." I went back to pay yet again using the PayPal link and the payment has gone through this time. The download link is there now so everything is OK Thank You.

I just tried to buy using PayPal and it would not work.

StaceyG ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 8:35 AM

Can you be more specific about what happens when you say " it wouldn't work"?

Thank you

PilotHigh ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 8:54 AM

I click on Pay with Paypal and it reverts to credit card and says fill in the form.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 12:02 PM

Am I the only one having this problem? I still can't buy thru PayPal.

tattooedillusions ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 12:55 PM

@PilotHigh - No, you're not the only one with that issue.  I am also having this issue.  You click on the PayPal circle which does get selected but the page doesn't switch to that option.  Credit Card form is still displaying & won't let you continue to the Paypal screen.  Hopefully it gets sorted soon, I've only been waiting for 8 hours hahaha.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 1:00 PM

I don't think it will get fixed today. All the admins and in a day long meeting.

tattooedillusions ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 1:07 PM

Yeah I saw that.  Probably not then.  It doesn't affect me too much because all but one item is Prime and I could always just pay by card.  But it sucks for people that have things in their cart that may go off sale by the time it gets fixed.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 1:14 PM

The reason that I use paypal only is because my CC # was stolen online 9 times! Since switching to paypal I have not had a problem in 2 years.

StaceyG ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 9:59 PM

So has this been an ongoing problem or did it just start? And if so when did this start?  i'm going to login as one of you and go through the process to see what happens for me

StaceyG ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 10:04 PM

Okay I just tried this and was able to click the paypal circle and it folded up the credit card info as normal and would've let me hit the submit order button to complete the order.  I'm using Chrome, what browser and version are you both using and can one or both of you click the paypal button and then do a screen shot and attach it here so I can see it and pass on and give me your browser and version so we can try and isolate the problem as it's not happening for anyone other than you all posting in here that we've heard about and we've had numerous paypal orders that worked fine for customers today and previous days and it let me do it logged in as you right now with no issues so I'm wondering if it's something to do with your specific browsers and versions and if you both are using the same browser or something in your settings of your browser?  So please give me the details I've asked for here and we will help get you fixed up as it seems to be a very isolated issue

StaceyG ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 10:07 PM

Just tried it on FireFox browser and again it worked as it should FYI so as soon as I hear back from you all we will dive into this deeper

tattooedillusions ( ) posted Thu, 16 October 2014 at 10:23 PM

Hi Stacey thanks for checking into this.  I know you guys have been busy all day.  For me personally I guess it was just not playing nicely with Firefox.  I just tried it in IE and it worked.  I never thought to check out a different browser.  Wonder if my Firefox is out of date or something.  It usually lets me know when there's an update.  Thanks again on my end.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2014 at 7:49 AM

I only Firefox and it's still not working.

quiteroom ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2014 at 7:57 AM

When I started this thread I had a problem and the browser I was using was Chrome as stated by myself earlier in this tread I recieved an email and went back to the link to pay and it worked still using Chrome. Why this is happening is beyond me but I hope it gets sorted soon for the benefit of the buyers and the staff Regards Quietroom

Stacey, I'm running OS 10.6.8 on mac with Firefox 25 and the latest Flash does not play nice with videos with my version of Firefox so I'm using v12. I have not had any paypal problems in the past so it's something on the site that's changed.

SiliconAI ( ) posted Sat, 18 October 2014 at 12:44 PM

Got the same issue, click paypal circle and the credit card form stays there. Never had this issue before, I last bought something on Sep 27th and it worked fine then.

Win7 64bit and Firefox 32.0.3

I also tried IE 11 and Chrome 38.0.2 and those works fine, no issue.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Sun, 19 October 2014 at 2:00 PM

Well I've been using Poser for 15 years and I've spent thousands of dollars here and now I'm looking for a way to stop this addiction. This just might do it! I've had my CC # stolen online 9 times! Since using Paypal it hasn't happened.

shortcuts ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2014 at 1:32 PM

This is a still a problem. I'm stuck waiting to use paypal and it's not happening

shortcuts ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2014 at 1:45 PM

Update for future reference. Chrome works

PilotHigh ( ) posted Wed, 22 October 2014 at 1:51 PM

I only use Firefox and I'm not switching browsers just for Renderosity. Paypal still works at RuntimeDNA, Content Paradise, HiveWire and Daz so I'm off to go shopping.

StaceyG ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2014 at 9:49 AM

I'm still working with the programmers as it's only happening to a very small number in comparsion to how many use paypal successfully so we are trying to isolate this for you all but it seems it might be a setting or an extension on your browser as we've been testing it out on multiple browsers and versions and so far cannot duplicate the issue you all are having but still looking to replicate it so then we can know what is causing it for you few and get you all fixed up:)

tattooedillusions ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2014 at 10:09 AM

Thank you for continuing to look into this Stacey.  It's still happening on my end.  I even upgraded to Firefox 33.0 thinking that might be the problem but it's still doing it.  So I've just been switching over to IE when I go to check out.  But again thank you.

StaceyG ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2014 at 10:23 AM

It might take us a minute to isolate why this is happening but we will keep digging:)

@everyone Please make sure your Javascript is enabled. I'm looking into this now. Feel free to try it out, I've already made a few changes.

shortcuts ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2014 at 12:20 PM

I still can't get the Paypal to work on Firebox. Frustating yes but Chrome does at least work.

Shadowdancer ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2014 at 10:37 PM

I'm getting this issue using firefox 33.0.1 in Windows 8.1 .

StaceyG ( ) posted Sat, 25 October 2014 at 10:54 PM

Okay I'll the the techs know the tweaks he made didn't do the trick for you all using FF as we've definitely isolated it now to a firefox issue and he thinks it might be you have your javascript disabled as he posted above, can you all confirm that's not the case so we can continue trying to figure out what's going on as it seems to be very isolated to just a few as a lot of people are using the FF browser with no issues.

Thank you for the update

PilotHigh ( ) posted Sun, 26 October 2014 at 8:49 AM

I'm running Mac 10.6.8 with Firefox 25. I searched every panel in the Prefs and Javascript is not listed.

Okay cannot seem to recreate this issue. Let me ask you guys this, when you click the 'Pay with Paypal' button the form does not hide, if you now click the green 'Place Order' button, with the 'Pay with Paypal' selected, does it allow you to go to the next page or does it give you form validation errors. If it gives form validation errors your javascript is enabled and works, however it it allows you to go to the next page likely your javascript is disabled.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Sun, 26 October 2014 at 12:04 PM

When I click 'Place Order' it tells me to fill in my CC #.

@everyone made a few more tweaks, please give it another try and post your experience. Appreciate the patience.

Quote - When I click 'Place Order' it tells me to fill in my CC #.

When I pick the paypal option nothing happens to the page. Instead of collapsing I'm left with the same options.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 8:41 AM

I just tried now and there's no change. Still doesn't work.

bwsupport ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 9:32 AM

haha man flying blind here. Try one more time and if it doesn't work I'll change it to a hide() and show() instead of a slideUp() and slideDown(). Maybe that's somehow breaking it. If anyone knows how to use the inspect element feature in Firefox, open it up and click on the 'console' tab then do a refresh, and once loaded take a screen shot maybe it's showing your javascript error.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 9:43 AM

No luck here.

Okay, I'm starting to believe this might be an Operating Systems issue or a browser extension issue.

@PilotHigh I just tested in FF-v25 on Yosemite and everything works perfectly fine. Of course I'm running Yosemite and you are running Snow Leopard, which is 4 major upgrades behind. If your hardware supports it, I recommend at least upgrading to Mavericks for security and functionality purposes. Yosemite, is pretty cool if you wanted to catch up all the way. After your upgrade you should then be able to install the latest versions of Firefox, and hopefully everything will work. If not likely a browser extension issue.

Don't worry I'm still attempting to fix the issue, just a suggestion since we are on similar setups.

@everyone changed the event handling to a 'change' event. Give it another go.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 10:20 AM

I'm on a different partition now with 10.8 and FF32 and it still does not work. I have to use my old system because a lot of my apps don't work in 10.8.

Gotcha. Try once more and if it still doesn't work try this and let's make sure it's not an extension issue.

***1. Open Firefox ***

2. Click 'Tools' button in the top menu

3. Click 'Add-Ons' in the dropdown

4. Click 'Extensions'

***5. Turn all extensions OFF. ***

***6. Close the browser ('quit' process from the dock if on a Mac). ***

7. Reopen. If the problem is resolved, turn extension back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 10:56 AM

OK it seems that AdBlocker on 10.8 is the problem. I'm now going back to 10.6 and try it there.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 11:02 AM · edited Mon, 27 October 2014 at 11:04 AM

Out of all my extensions it seems to be AdBlocker here also. At least the Paypal section slides up now. I haven't tried to buy anything yet. So I guess I have to disable AdBlocker for Rendersity only now. Thank you very much for all your work!!

edit: I've always had AdBlocker on and the store worked before so it was something changed at your end.

bwsupport ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 11:12 AM · edited Mon, 27 October 2014 at 11:13 AM

@PilotHigh AdBlocker can be a pain sometimes since it removes HTML code instead of hiding it. You might want to disable and then re-enable, in hopes to reset the browser plugin. That might actually resolve the issue and allow you to still use the extension. Sometimes when the browser updates the extension gets stuck and screwy. Give that a shot and hopefully, everything will start working smoothly, if not, try uninstalling and reinstalling the AdBlocker extension completely.

I'm just happy we were able to locate the issue. Thanks again for your patience.

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2014 at 12:54 PM

Great news and thank you for being patient and thanks to our tech that kept on this thread to try and get the issue resolved!!!

tattooedillusions ( ) posted Tue, 28 October 2014 at 6:24 PM

haha seriously?  AdBlocker is the cause?  I'll have to remember that. Figures I just saw there were replies AFTER buying some things (which still says Unpaid after 5-10 minutes but that's for a different thread if it doesn't work soon).  I just reset my AdBlocker so hopefully the next time I checkout it will work.  Thanks everyone!

@everyone I'm still having trouble recreating this issue with AdBlocker installed. I'm pretty certain at this point it is an extension issue and could vary based on your system and version of Firefox. Again, if anyone is having issues please try the following.

Hopefully, it is only AdBlocker and a clean reinstall will fix the issue, but for now the below steps should help debug the problem. Please feel free to reply if someone still cannot find a solution. I'd be curious to know the details.

***1. Open Firefox ***

2. Click 'Tools' button in the top menu

3. Click 'Add-Ons' in the dropdown

4. Click 'Extensions'

***5. Turn all extensions OFF. ***

***6. Close the browser ('quit' process from the dock if on a Mac). ***

7. Reopen. If the problem is resolved, turn extension back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Wed, 29 October 2014 at 10:01 AM

Well I trashed AdBlock, restarted, downloaded a new one and it still disables Paypal.

KristiS ( ) posted Wed, 29 October 2014 at 10:56 AM

Hi PilotHigh,

I'm sorry you are still having problems.

Did you get rid of all the extensions as suggested?

Please send an email to me at kristis@renderosity.com so we can email back and forth rather than going back and forth in the open forums.

Thank you,
