Subject: Problem with Animations (hyper basics)

First at all , I know nothing about animations in Poser,

I have a model (V4) and I apply a pose animation (aprox 60 frames) ok, this action  created 60 frames with v4 moving , but V4 is under the ground in all frames.

I can Up V4  to to the edge of the floor frame by frame, but I would like knowing how I done only once for all frames

My poser is tied up with a simulation so I can't check but I believe there is either a script or an option under the figure menu that is drop figure to floor all frames.

Yes , you're right.

Scripts>Utility>DropFigToFloorAllFrames.

"Drop figure to floor" script works fine so long as the figure does not leave the floor during the animation, but jumps or parts of a fast run where both feet might leave the ground will be adversely affected. In such cases, you can use another method. Open the graph editor for the hip's Y translation, expand the range so that you can see all frames, click and drag above or below the line of keyframes, high-lighted /selected frames turn black. Hold down Ctrl and drag the keyframes up to the required level.

Yes, you're right 3Dave, now that I see the animation,  in one part is off the ground and happens what you explain   , I'll try your advice and I tell you the result .

Another approach, first look at the graph to see where the hip rises and the pattern of the curves and peaks, use the script, then in the hip's Y paramater graph highlite the section of keys where the jump is, delete the the keyframes and set new keyframes to remake the jump with a similar curve.

If an animation progressively sinks below ground, as sometimes happens in bvh files, this can be fixed using straight splines on the Body's Y trans, again refer to the hip y graph to see where you need to add keys.

Hi

You can use several options to correct the problem but it's better to avoid it to start with.

Check the body position in the first frame and make sure that the figure is standing on the ground in frame 1.

Do the same for the last frame in you animation.

Use the Drop to Floor option to make sure.

In the Animation Palette look and see that the elevation of the character doesn't change during the animation in the Body line sub category Y Trans.

If you don't intend for the body to move up and down just delete all the key frames in this line, if there are any.

Since you are new at this, I want to stress how important it is to learn to use the Animation Palette.

Look at how it works, each element i.e. the Hip, has a line for each possible movement.

Each one can be controlled individually not just the main line.

See how key frames work and the effect that the different options for them has on you animation.

Spline, Linear, Constant. Note that you can move any key frame along the line changing where that particular action happens etc.

Spend some time trying it out and your animating experience will be much easier.

Believe my I learned the hard way. LOL

Good , I  honestly  never had time to learn how to animate in poser, creating characters and stories to my site is what takes most of my time ,But while I had wanted to haver one small animation of a character from my site to give them to my visitors

3Dave your tips were a great help and with that I could do the simple animation I had in mind

MikeMoss one has given me good advice on how to start learning has to do animations, I will listen to you and try to understand how it works the  Animation Palette. before attempting to do anything else

one more question, I googled and I found several tutos / threads about animation in Poser (I have not had time to read yet), ¿there are some that recommend  read  / or view to start to learn the basics ?
