Subject: Set Materials Bump Map Scale globally

kenmo ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2014 at 6:04 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 1:28 AM

Is there a way to set the bump map scale globally instead of adjusting it for every single material? This is after you have imported your models and not during import...

Thanks kindly

Ken

It's been awhile since I did it. I used to group objects and then click the group name and set material there first for every thing at once. I don't know if later Vue versions still allowed that.

I tried it just now with Vue 9.5 Infinite (my baby), and it worked. It worked for metablob grouped materials also.

You can just select all the materials, open the material editor and then change the values you want to change.  Vue will change just those values for the selected materials.  Can't remember quite which version that was added in but its a huge time saver.  No need to group or metablob (or as I used to write python scripts) to do this anymore.

To add to Impish's statement.  Select a model, right click on materials and select edit all. If there are a lot, you might have to scroll down until you see the edit all statement.
