Subject: PP2014 Alternative Wet Skin Shader for V4

Glen ( ) posted Tue, 30 December 2014 at 4:02 PM · edited Sun, 09 February 2025 at 1:50 AM

Hi folks,

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=63200

Can anyone suggest an alternative shader to this one, please? I'm looking for something quick and easy to use which I can chuck over my existing character(s) and will look as good as/better than this.

Many thanks,

Glen.

If memory serves, V4 Wet Skin Shader by Dburdick are maps that are applied to your character's existing maps. I've used dBurdick's Wet skin shaders in Vue quite a bit, and they do work rather well there.

Hey,

Yes, I believe we're talking about the same product (at the link) but it's no longer available. :(

Thanks,

Glen.

Check this tutorial for sweaty skin. I am using it a lot.

Thank you very much for that! Yes, that looks quite good for sweaty/oily skin, but, for this, I'm really after droplets and runs, like the wet skin shader provides.

I'll definitely save that though, for if I ever want to oil one of my characters up, eh? ;)

Another alternative is EZskin2 has a wet skin setting and it does a lot of improvements on existing skin textures. (also included in EZmat, see sticky at top of forum).

Hi there

As Boni said,I would try EZSkin 2,here is quick render with EZSkin,EZSkin is compatible with many figures and can be useful,I mostly using only EZSkin

Those presets you can find under Special FX,I've used only 30% of the SSS

2i904np.jpgThis has been rendered in Poser Pro with GC(Gamma Correction) ON and with Bagginsbill EnvSphere and sky texture from sIBL

Hope this help

Thanks,Jura

Thanks folks, and happy new year! I had forgotten EZSkin did that. Unfortunately, I had big problems with it, it messed up all the materials of my character (difficult to explain).

Hmmm... this might be a sticky area for me, lol!

Here is another alternative.

I believe it is a second skin/suit that fits over the body that gives you a layer of water droplets.

Interesting! Yes, I think I'll get that, it seems very interesting indeed! I like the way it seems to do water droplets, tears and solid artefacts like armlets and so on. I think, with Knigge64's solution to create a more shiny skin surface, that could work really well!

Let's see how we get on, thank you! :)
