Subject: WW Adjustment morphs stopped working after changing OBJ?

hamiltonpl ( ) posted Tue, 06 January 2015 at 3:41 PM · edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 6:47 AM

I doubled the verts on an OBJ file that had already been dumped into the WW Folder after converting a P4 to P5 shirt.  I can bring it into the scene but now the WW Adjustment morphs have no effect - i.e. I can't shrink wrap, inflate, etc.

The dials are there but nothing works.  Suggestions?

The original OBJ on the P4 figures are OBZ - compressed.  I am thinking I need to change the verts on the ORIGINAL obj.  Blender can't import the OBZ.  Should I uncompress/recompress? What is the best way to do this?  Which utility?  Will Wardrobe Wizrard still work after I monkey around with the original?

For morphs to work, you have to maintain the vertex number and order.
Changing vertex number or order will stop morphs from working.

Okay.  Using RAR I extracted the blmturneck.OBZ to an OBJ. Then I subdivided the verts creating a higher res in Blender.  Exported it out.  Put it back into the original folder next to the OBZ.

I am running a WW convert on it now - it says it's now a hi-res conversion - will take a while to run. Hope this works and the Adjustment morphs are back on.

Decompressing will give you the original OBJ file you require.  However, i sounds to me that you may need to rerun WW again with the new modified OBJ file.  But if you are using the P4 shirt, the CR2 needs to be edited to point to the new OBJ file which may not respond to morphs anyway because of the modifications.  PhilC would know more about this than I.

You have to be consistent, you can not change the vertices half way through.

The adjustment morphs are created during the conversion process and are not dependent on the original clothing.

If you ever want to just add the adjustment morphs simply convert from and to the same figure.

Well after the WW ran....it worked - the inflate and other dials appear to be back on.  So, now I know.  Thanks for the input.

I did try converting from and to the same figure - but what happened was the conversion finished. but nothing showed up in the WW folder where the conversion is usually dropped.  I will try that again.

Thanks!

So, when running the wardrobe wizard on a P4 shirt I am asking for FBMs to be added to the converted shirt for the P7 figure.  But they aren't there.  The adjustment morphs are - but the full body morphs - endomorph, ectomorph, etc. are not.  Is this the way it is supposed to work?
