Subject: PP2014 EZSkin V4 Misty Eyes...

Glen ( ) posted Thu, 08 January 2015 at 12:49 PM · edited Sat, 04 January 2025 at 6:51 PM

Hi folks,

Ok, so I decided to give EZSkin another go and I've found that my character's eyes are misty after applying the settings. Now, I should mention that she's located in a white space (white ground and white dome), but I'm wondering if this should be expected, as it doesn't look natural at all to me.

Sorry the pic is low resolution, it's a cropped piece of a render which is ongoing and taking quite some time.

Glen.

That appears to be reflection of the enviro. You can choose to have EZSkin not change shaders for eyes, mouth, teeth etc. by unticking the selection boxes.

It seems to be a bit washed out to be reflection. I'd like to have better mats for her eyes, so I figured EZSkin would do it for me. Hmmm, might need to dig deeper.

As Ashley said, it is indeed reflection.

Somebody - find my thread on eye shaders and link it please. I don't have the energy to fight with the now-ruined search engine here.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Edit - This problem isn't really a problem if you gave the reflections something in the scene to reflect other than the default environment. It isn't a fault with EZSkin, and the "problem" will not be apparent in a properly set up scene.

You can also tell EzSkin to apply shaders to eyes, but to use reflection maps rather than actual reflections on the eyes. That would enable you to enjoy the SSS on the eyes without having to have the reflections as well.

Thanks so much.

A superb thread, but then that is expected if BB is involved.  It is well worth the effort of reading through the thread and applying materials suggested, there are even pointers to how you can tweak the materials to you personal preference.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
