Once
in a while I look around,
I see
a sound
and
try to write it down
Sometimes
they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again
This is awfully distracting. I should be modelling for my own animation, but I just sat there watching part4... then part 5... tut tut tut.
Good stuff.

Dima, that's some crazy dedication you have there, I truly admire the patience you must have to pull-off something as epic as that!
Just watched it on YouTube with the captions on. All the way through I was wondering how you did the animation of the figures, whether it was mocap or entirely hand keyframed using animation layers within the timeline. Either way, I think it worked well, the characters seemed to have real weight behind their movement.
I liked the expressions when they were talking as well, attention to detail, well done
Editing and camera work was bloody nice as well.
I used mocap files for motion walk only. I created all the slow motions by keyframing manually. DAZ Mimic not support Russian language. I have a video tutorial in Russian, as I created a simulation of conversational speech based on the library of phonemes.

I worked with the movie 8 years.
Cheers Dima, just watched the vid.
Interesting stuff, and you know what, I have Mimic Pro and didn't even know there was a "For Poser" version of it. I'll have to check my DAZ account to see if I have one for Poser because if I recall, mine was just a stand-alone thing. I bought Poser 10 a few days ago so it would be great to have that.
BTW, you can add further respect for your animation. I was just watching you keyframe in Poser and realised you never even had Animation Layers in that release. Man, you're crazy, eight years of manual keyframing - WTF!
You inspired me to have a little play with the animation in Poser 10 after seing your movie last night. I even asked a question on the Poser forum about Indirect Lighting due to the problems it causes with animation. It's a shame it's not animation friendly because I'm majorly impressed with the Firefly renderer, haven't had so much fun with a renderer since, well, Bryce!
So are you working on another movie, did you start a new animation project?
Hey Dima, forget what I said about IDL in animation, it does work after all, I just got some more replies in the Poser forum.
As long as you switch the processor preferences to use only one core, you won't get any of the random flickering. I always thought it was strange that it fired-off random samples, but now it makes sense, it's not random at all, it's due to using multiple cores.
My apologies if you already knew about it but it's a new one for me that is!
I use an old Poser 4 Pro, but the Poser 10 has high-quality rendering. I showed the render settings for both versions of Poser.

You can also take the English subtitles (*.srt).

The DAZ Mimic is stand-alone program, but the Mimic creates files for Poser libraries.
I use file of lighting that creates the illusion of global illumination in Poser. This file contains a few dozen weak light sources around the figure. Poser 4 Pro has some limitations in the settings and I find interesting solutions in creating the illusion of global illumination. :-)
I know what you mean about the lights, you carefully place them to mimic bounced light, saves a lot of render time compared to using IDL.
Nice work on the new project, looks a lot more detailed and was good to see it in Full HD. I didn't download the subtitles, I'll save that for when you complete the movie - and I genuinely look forward to seeing it.
BTW, I hope you back up these projects on at least two devices. I think I'd go nuts if I did that amount of work and lost any of it.
Hi, I present an introductory episode of the third movie from the trilogy about the lost Planet.
