Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 10:28 pm)
That is sad news indeed and clearly very sudden and unexpected. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
And so young too! My condolences to the family and fans.

Hop over to Roosterteeth.com and peruse Red vs Blue after season 7 and RWBY. The latter is Monty's brainchild, and animated/rendered in Poser 2014.
The front page of RT has more details. About 11 days ago, he was in for some form of routine surgery. He had an extreme allergic reaction that left him in a coma. And the last paragraph of the announcement had a request for those who were thinking flowers and the like. Do something creative. Make the world just that little bit better. Hopefully, RWBY will go on; that would be the best memorial for Monty, the "I cheat like a motherfucker!" animator and storyteller.
For more information, both on Monty and just how far and wide his too short time with us let him reach, check out what the New York Times had to say...

Wow. I just saw this. That's really sad. I know he was an inspiration for many people. It's really sad to see talented people like him leave the world so soon. It's almost like all of the bad people live long lives (that only serve to irritate and to make life miserable for others), while those who have the biggest positive influence through small actions tend to leave us too soon.
He's one of the few people I've been able to see start from being a regular guy to becoming a big inspiration to others. This is his animation that opened the doors to fame to him. In an interview he stated that it was all animated in Poser.

Sad news... :(
Rooster Teeth animator Monty Oum has passed away, the production studio announced today. The 33-year-old was hospitalized over the weekend for "a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure" that put him in a coma. When the news first hit, fans raised nearly $180,000 for him.
Oum was best known for RWBY, a web-based anime series created, written, and produced by him. RWBY produced two seasons, though a third season was planned and in development.
