Subject: Angelyna Wings Problem

I have a problem with the angelyna wings from the freestuff here.

After i added them to a poser scene you can color it like you want, if you render the color is always dark

even when you put the biggest  spotlight on it.

Whats wrong?

Try removing ray-trace from the wings. That solved the issues I had with them some time ago.

Hmm...funny part is, when i start a new scene and add the wings to the scene it works fine.

i did what u told me with my already half finished scene and it didn´t work. i removed all shadows and raytrace in the object property settings "Visible in raytracing".

What version of Poser are you using?  Below is a picture that I created a long time ago using Angelyna Wings and Poser 7 or 6.

Angelyna Wings

  1. Poser Pro 2014
  2. Turn Raytrace Off
  3. Use Bagginsbill's Enviro Dome (you can use it without a background image)
  4. TiffT785s Angelyna Wing Texture (TiffT785 has an account on Daz3D.com, you may have to ask for the textures)
  5. Indirect lighting On
  6. Gamma Correction On

TIP: The wings appear gray when the light shines directly on them (at a 90%) when the wings are facing fat to your perspective.  Shine a light at an angle to the wings to make them white.

I'm full of typos this week. the 90% is supposed to be 90 Degree

display_1858453.jpgDamn that looks good. I use Poser 7.

The part i don´t understand is, when you render the wings you can see the pink and green a bit shinging through the black color

(i used pink and green for example render)

I took a look at the obj-file in a modeller and saw that the normals are inverted. I tried to put a check mark in the "Normals Forward" box and flipping the normals in my modeller. Both methods work to make the wings render white with the included texture file.
