If you look on the girlscoutshop website, you can see current uniforms. The brownies have blue shirts, brown shorts, vests, sashes, beanies and a tie. The Cadets have shirts, vests and sashes.
Otherwise go with option 3. People may want to do a picture of an older time period. What I see of the current stuff, it's not that different from what I used to wear. We just had more things, like long pants and jumpers.

I've spent the better part of the morning looking at the girl scout shop website. As far as I can tell, the sash, vests and tunic are the only "required" girl scout uniforms. They do have pictures of them wearing matching skirts, pants, and socks, but they're not really required. I found a brownie scout uniform and a cadet scout uniform, neither of which came up on my earlier "friendly" Google searches, vilters.
I hate khaki and brown.
I would say go a little more retro, either for the Girl Scouts or the Girl Guides. I like the full uniform with the neck scarf, shirt and skirt, either brown and yellow or blue.

I always think of this scene from The Addams Family movie:
(Wednesday and Pugsley have a roadside lemonade stand)
Girl Scout: Is this made from real lemons?
Wednesday: Yes.
Girl Scout: I only like all-natural foods and beverages, organically grown, with no preservatives. Are you sure they're real lemons?
Pugsley: Yes.
Girl Scout: Well, I'll tell you what. I'll buy a cup if you buy a box of my delicious Girl Scout cookies. Do we have a deal?
Wednesday: Are they made from real Girl Scouts?
* * *
I would say, make whatever pleases you and then maybe make some add-ons. Of this "package," what would you use the most? Make that first. If you would mix and match more than using a certain style, that sort of makes your project list I would think.
As for something a little different, Grill Scouts going door to door selling outdoor cooking items from a fold-up-sign-up sheet would have an apron and a chef's hat and some unique merit badges. (Wednesday Addams as a Grill Scout . . . just what is on that order sheet?)
Just came baack from my local Walmart, and guess who's outside... selling cookies? Not one of them has on a uniform, sash or vest.
I know uniforms don't mean a lot to some people, but what if cheerleaders uniforms were suddenly traded in for everyday clothes. I don't think the games would be the same. Just saying. Anyway, coming along nicely on the Girl Scout uniform for Kate. I'm doing a little texturing right now, so I'll post a render soon in this thread to give you all a look see. It's not a perfect replica, so don't nag me about details.

Was planning to do another freebie for my dear sweet little Kate. But ran into a bit of a snag. I wanted to do a girl scout uniform for her, but it seems, at least in MY opinion, that the girl scouts don't actually HAVE a uniform anymore. Near as I can see, Kate would be a Brownie or a cadet, but basically, the only required "uniform", if you can call it that, is a sash or a vest, for pinning medals and badges on.
So I have four ways to go with this one. Still want to do something for Kate. So I can:
Do something else.
Do a modern style "uniform". (I can't guarantee my heart will be in this one)
Do a more traditional syle of uniform. (I like this idea better)
4, Do my interpretation of what a modern style girl scout uniform should look like. (I kinda like the idea of mixing the old with the new )
Input please. Which way would you go and why?
