Now I just need to get some clothes for her. My bank account is a dustbowl...lol Marque

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 4:29 PM

Eeeep! Sorry, the hair is by Harvey Mann. 8^) She's no Vickie but then, I didn't get her because she looks like Vickie. She does need a few more morphs though, but I think she's going to work out fine. Marque

lalverson ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 4:37 PM

I Agree there ae some body MT and facial MT at the "Other" site and at GRC freestuff. i actually am using a Dina character (Erin) in a romance series and she working out very well. True not a vicky, but good to work with and renders well. buying all the clothes did suck but as with most if not all Dcort models they work and comform well.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 4:39 PM

I wish I had gotten the other textures though, the one by pam has big lines in it, you can see them on her shoulders and they are on her face and forehead as well. Oh well, I'm getting used to this. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 4:43 PM

What is the url for GRC, I thought I had it but can't find it in my favorites. Thanks, Marque

Marque, Dinas eyes...can you make them...ehhh...like eyes of a japanese...chinease...hope you know what Im asking about, because I know absolutely nothing about Poser, so I cant explain it better....

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 6:07 PM

Epicnathal fold, don't see it, though you can slant them up for faeries. I'm surprised because he has that morph for Natalia. Hummm. I need some morphs to make her nose not so wide, she would be much nicer if her nose could be thinner. Marque

Skygirl ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 6:21 PM

Ok, thanks for the reply. What about another stupid question ? All those morphs...do they work on Dina as well...all the stuff picked up from Morph world ? And her nose...didnt somebody make morphs for Dinas nose ? Their was / is something in free stuff at grc...I guess....

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 6:49 PM

Her body morphs consist of 18 morphs mainly for the breasts. She is actually not as good as Natalia. Actually, I'm pretty disappointed in her. The free morph package just has a few morphs, better some than none. 8^) But I'm stuck with her so I'll just make the best of it. I will just have to look at this as a challenge. Marque

Skygirl ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 7:11 PM

Ah well, dont know...I know nothing about what one can expect from a Poser-figure, because I only have standart Poser-figures. Just interested in Dina because she is so much different from the rest (the way she looks I mean). She looks like a human...I think...

lalverson ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 7:39 PM

she has eye tilt, that does pretty good as asian looks. the body morph kit adresses mostly her lower body to give her more shape or a zaftig look. up here on the boards is scale plan to make dina taller and more I guess "super modle look to her. I found that if you Y scale her upper neck to about 123% her shoulders look less block and help give a softer look. She has price and functionallity about her and Dcort has been pretty cool with support tips and additional support for his product. But as i have said all along, she's new, but she has solid support. I say get her if you can, she is worth the efford if you like a challenge

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 7:47 PM

What body morph kit are you looking at? Marque

Here is a character that I'm working on with a texture. While I'll agree that Dina doesn't have enough morphs, you can do well with what she's got for the time being. Let me know what you think...this is the first character morph and texture I've ever done :). Laurie

lalverson ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 8:34 PM

Dina Morph Pack #1 Added 2001-09-18 By: DTHUREGRIF [Collected Works by DTHUREGRIF] A collection of 4 nostril morphs, plus one to lower brows. And full body morphs for smoother stomach, shaplier legs and hips, and butt cheeks together. You must have DSI's Dina V to use these morphs

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 10:33 PM

How did you do your morph Daffy? Thanks, Migraine Marque

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 10:41 PM

I've noticed her eyes appear to be part of the head, you can't move them like you can the regular poser models. So if you create a morph that you need to re-adjust the eyes for you're out of luck? Marque

Cin- ( ) posted Mon, 01 October 2001 at 10:50 PM

Laurie, Your character is great... Dina's nose is still my biggest concern... I just DON'T like it... but your morphing (and probably texturig too) make it not so bad... I REALLY like her face profile... very cute. :)

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 3:01 AM

Dina has about as many morphs as Vicki did when she first came out and she's a heck of a lot cheaper. But have no fear, we're working on more. We put the bulk of the work into getting her joint parameters as close to perfect as we could (one of the hardest parts of making her). Dan also worked very hard at making her mesh easily morphable for the future. I have to say, morphing her is a pleasure. Her mesh doesn't distort much unless you really get funky with those magnets. Here's a character I'm working on right now with some custom morphs. I will be releasing some of my magnets to free stuff soon. Diane

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 3:04 AM

BTW, Laurie, I'm really liking your character! She is very cute.

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 3:10 AM

Marque, What lines are you talking about in Pam's texture? I don't remember seeing any when I tested it. Diane

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:18 AM

file_216060.jpg

Don't know if it's Pam's or the one that comes with her. Here she is straight out of da box so to speak, with default lighting. Also, just curious why you can't move her eyes so if you morph out her face you can use xyz dials to put them back where they belong? Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:20 AM

file_216061.jpg

And here is the one from Pam.

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:22 AM

Also if you look at the first pic in the thread you will see them on her shoulders. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:24 AM

Looks like it's on the shoulder on Daffy34's character as well. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:28 AM

file_216062.jpg

I don't think it's Pam's map, I think it's the default map peeking through. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:29 AM

Is there any place where you are discussing Dina, you know morphs, workarounds, fixes, textures? Thanks, Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:31 AM

file_216064.jpg

Even with Pam's texture loaded it still shows through. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:31 AM

Sorry, should have hit the nudity button. Marque

Ok, how bout some boots?

Daffy34 ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 8:56 AM

Marque, I did the morphs for the fairy with a combination of Diane's morph pac 1, my head morph #1, and dials. I'm not good with magnets ;). The texture I am still working on...I only have the color done so far and is still using Dina's standard texture as the base. I will be deleting that out and replacing it with another as soon as I get it finished. That may be why you see lines on the fairy (although they are very dim and could be posted out with no problem). Diane, Thanks for the compliments :). Your Dina is very pretty and she looks almost like a teenager...very young. :) Laurie

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 12:45 PM

Hummm, no one knows what these lines are? Marque

Daffy34 ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 12:59 PM

I assume they are on the map, because I was able to tone them down a bit on the head for Dina's standard map (the one that she comes with). Laurie

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:05 PM

Marque, Since the same lines are showing up for you in exactly the same places with both textures, I think it might be your light settings. Those are Poser shadows 9one of Posers rendering weirdnesses) and I've seen them on other figures, especially figures with photographic textures. If you apply pam's texture the default one is no longer there, so it can't be peeking through. Try using more lights at lower intensities and turn off Stay away from the Poser default light settings. They are brutal and have too much green in them. I'll dig through my light settings and send you a couple. We've set up DSI product forums on both Renderotica and GRC. Renderotica is getting more discussion because we have more members there right now, so if you don't mind going to an adult site, I'd pop over there. I'm not sure why Dan set up the eyes that way, but he must have a reason. I'll ask him.

dcort ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:07 PM

Marque, I think the lines you're seeing may just be Poser shadows, or else I'm not seeing what you're seeing. You might try a different light set. You are right that Natalia has a lot more morphs than Dina right out of the box. Natalia has three different eye fold morphs, for example. The thing is, making morphs like that can be a very time-consuming process, so to keep Dina's cost down, and to keep her download file size down, we elected to not give her as many at the outset. Like Diane said, more will come, and people are already starting to make some great characters with her. And as for boots... check out my corset pack. It comes with lace-up boots (knee-hi) and thigh boots. - Dan

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:10 PM

Thanks, I'll work on the lights and I will be over to Renderotica to check out the forums. I think I will like her once I learn how to take advantage of her uniqueness. Sorry if I sound grouchy, got a bitch of a migraine, had it since yesterday morning. Marque

dcort ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:12 PM

Oh, someone asked if there was a place to discuss Dina. There is. There are DSI Support forums on both GRC (www.thegrc.com) and Renderotica (www.renderotica.com) moderated by yours truly. I also post info there, Dina-related news, etc. Like, for example, I have a free bikini for Dina that should be out today sometime. :)

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:32 PM

Yes! On my way. Marque

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:41 PM

Does Dina have the same body parts as Vickie? If so, would anybody be intrested in a Supermodel Dina? She would have to be built on Vickie's CR2, so she would loose all her JCM. Just a though, BTW, I don't even have the figure.

VirtualSite ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:47 PM

I certainly dont wish to demean anyones hard work, but doesnt it strike anyone else as a little odd that the image in post 22 looks extraordinarily like a man with too much makeup? I dont know the genesis of this model, so please no offence meant; its simply something that struck as a little humorous in a wry sort of way.

dcort ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 1:56 PM

Jim, Yes, Dina has the same body parts as Vicki, with the addition of a separate tongue. - Dan

RealitysPoison ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 3:49 PM

Well, for all of you looking for more morphs. I have about 70 done right now for Dina. Mostly for her face, but a couple of full body morphs that I am not quite satisfied with and need more work. Things have been crazy around here lately, and I have to go to NYC for a memorial soon, but as soon as I get a chance, I will get some packaged up and put into free stuff. I honestly love Dina. I have a couple of renders that are waiting on me to have time to paint clothes/hair. Maybe I will just paint some quickies to get them up. who knows. Angela

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 3:53 PM

Virtual, No offense taken. Take almost any strong-featured woman, except those with pumped up lips or doll faces, strip them of most of their makeup and hair and they will look pretty masculine. Not very many people look good bald. :-)

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 4:08 PM

I know I wouldn't! lol Marque

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 4:32 PM

Hi Dan! How about the size? Is she about Vicki's height and armspan? I would make the morphing a lot easier if she was about "Vickie" size and not "posette" size.

dcort ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 4:51 PM

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

file_216067.jpg

Dina is actually closer to Posette in size. The height from the bottoms of the feet to the top of the shoulders is almost the same, as is the handspan. I did a quick image of Vicki superimposed over Dina for comparison.

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 5:00 PM

Oh my, I just realized that Dina looks like Jon Luc Picard. Marque

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 6:48 PM

Thanks! O.K., that might be a problem, I'll have to do some expermenting
