Subject: It was fun while it lasted ... but ... :o)

Dear Fellow Renderosarians,

Well, it had to happen as all good things come to an end someday.  I can not longer afford to keep my free website (drgeep.com) any longer. Ye olde financial crunch has caught up to me. Soooooo ... if there is anything on my website you would like to have (it's all free, as always) please don't wait because it will be gone in a few weeks, forever. ........... Howsomever ... I will remain (lurking?) here and other forums as I always enjoy the chit-chat and info provided by all the good folks here.  It's been fun but it's time to go.  Please feel free to post any questions here or email me "geep@cableone.net" if you prefer.

cheers,

dr (bob) geep

Yes!  Lots of us wanna know!   I learned a lot from your site and appreciated you sending me your DVD.  Perhaps you could sell the DVD here?  There's too much great information to just let it die.

cedarwolf ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2015 at 4:03 PM

You have been the Voice of Choice in explaining and teaching for many years.  I will miss your steady(?) hand and mind at the helm for us newbies.  Hang in there, and say, how much might you charge to push your goodies onto a training DVD?

@ Boni,

Thank you very much for the kind sentiment and offer of assistance but I must decline.  When it is time to retire, it is time to retire.

With age, the creative juices start to dry up and the "spark" just is not there anymore.  I recall (in the past) staying up almost all night to publish "new" stuff for a Poser tutorial.  It was really fun.  But ... the ol' Geepster is getting tired (and old :o)

And ... nothing is forever,no ... :o)

;=]

@basic ... Thank you for the offer but I am ready to retire   ... I was tired before and now, again so I guess I am re-tired ... :o)

If you do not wish to continue, do you object if I post a copy of the site as it sits and make it available?

Your call, my friend. Just an offer. (I FULLY understand the NEED to retire... been there... done that...burned the tee shirt... TWICE!)

DeathMetalDesk ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2015 at 4:35 PM

Very sad, thank you for teaching me so much Dr.Geep. I treasure all of the tutorials I've managed to collect in .pdf and hope to gather some more before they are no longer available. Speaking of which, surely your past work will be available somewhere?

Thank you ... Minor correction ... it's not a DVD but a CD called "Wacky World" and you can see the details here http://www.drgeep.com/WWCD/WWCD.htm
It's old stuff but has over 2,000 graphic pages of Poser "stuff" from Poser 4, 5, and 6 plus some comic relief.- - - - - -

I could host the contents of your site on my site. I have unlimited bandwidth.

Dale B ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2015 at 5:19 AM

It's been fun, Doc!

Let me add a voice to having your site contents hosted 3rd party. Your tutorials are the best for newbies, and more of the oldsters than will comfortably admit it... :P

Whatever you decide, take care. And once you get your breath back..... ;)

parkdalegardener ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2015 at 5:38 AM

Sorry to see you go Doc. I enjoyed building the room with you. I learned a lot.

WandW ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2015 at 7:10 AM

OH NO!  :(

Send a note to EnglishBob, DR. Geep.  I know he hosts free stuff for others, so perhaps he'd have the space to host your site.  ..

I said it before, but I will repeat it gladly: THANK YOU very much, Dr Geep, for your awesome tutorials and all the fun and laughter!

You taught me how to build houses with (almost) nothing but Poser-primitives and for that I will be forever grateful.

I'm sorry that you have to struggle and wishing you all the best!

Nay Say it ani't so!  Who is going to show us how to make the next race track, the next room with a door and hardware all with props...

Terrible terrible day. Totally illogical that Mr. Spock died and learn that Dr. Geep is shutting down his website on the same day.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Doc for all you have done to help anybody and everybody for so long you deserve to "re-tire" to beautiful Feenix, Aridzona.

Enjoy! But don't be a stranger here. You wit and humor was just as good as your poser tuts and lessons.

Some of the Dr Geep site is preserved on the Internet Archive, but not all of it:

http://web.archive.org/web/20141217044434/http://drgeep.com/

If you go through it, and find a page that is not there, there is an option to add it while the original site is still up...
