Subject: WHERE DID MY LIBRARIES GO?

FishandChips ( ) posted Sat, 07 March 2015 at 10:45 PM ยท edited Fri, 07 February 2025 at 2:39 PM

i cant find my "library files" on drive c anymore.....i got a new laptop thats very fast so i could make things for renderosity, and its windows 8, i installed poser pro 2014 and now when i save an object or a pose or something it shows up in my poser library inside poser but in my poser files on the hard drive, in drive c/smith micro/pose pro/runtime/libraries/ ย theres just an empty folder that says"collections" ย wtf. THERES NO LIBRARY FILES AT ALL. so i cant make anything now..can someone help please?

Probably because your actual saved content is in C:/Users/"Your Name"/Documents/Poser Pro 2014 Content/Runtime/Libraries.

When you installed Poser, you were asked where to put the libraries. You made a choice at that time which we cannot actually answer. That's why Laurie has to use the word "probably" in her answer. We don't actually know. But you can find out.

In the Poser library user interface the full paths to whatever you're interested in are shown in a couple ways. (hover tips, details panel)

If you don't notice thing by using them (some people don't), there's quite a bit of info about these matters in the manual.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Note - mine are in public - not my user name. See? We can't predict what you did.

couldn't find any place to post this. How do I get stuff I make to show up in the Poser prop library ?

Using Poser 6 on Windows XP......used P3do Explorer for png. to rsr, and use PHI Builder to add

PHI file, and tried both png. & jpeg. images. I can open the file manually but doesn't show in my

library folder????????

markschum ( ) posted Mon, 06 April 2015 at 7:25 PM

you should have gone rsr to png since rsr is an old standard.

a phi file wont show up at allcin poser as far as I know. Its for building figures.

Olympio ( ) posted Fri, 01 May 2015 at 1:15 PM

When I install a morph in Poser it generally comes to the Library with two files: INJ & REM. What do INJ and REM mean ? How should I use them ? Any clarification will be welcome ...

Thanks !

markschum ( ) posted Sat, 02 May 2015 at 9:44 AM

inj = inject - thats load the morph to the figure, you may need to set the dial.

rem = remove , that removes the loaded morph.

Effectively, it's obvious now !

What about SSS (SubSurface Scattering) ? Is it a file I must use one way or another, or it is just there for convenience, to be used by any software that supports it ?

Thanks for your help !

SSS is a node in a material setup to bring more realism to your renders. e.g SubSurface Skin and is added either from a pose file that somebody created or in the material room. SSS was introduced with poser 9 I believe (correct me if I am wrong guys.)

OK. So I understand that when a creator mentions SSS, it means his pose file makes use of that facility.

That is correct, and if your poser version is earlier than poser 9 or poser pro 2012 - SSS is not available to you, as anything earlier than that did not support it.
