Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 20 6:12 am)
There is a tutorial on the Poser Tool Box page at PhilC's site about making custom cages, and there is this little bit of info on making a new figure cage in his forum if it helps.
Just follow the instructions on the page.

Be sure to follow the naming convention as per the instructions.
It does not need to be very exact, the vertices of the cage simply act as location points for the face putty magnets.
Mostly you'll just need to scale one of the existing cages.
Phil, I tried making one for Michael 4, by adapting the Michael 3 cage. I called it "Michael4-CAGE.obj" because that seemed to fit the naming scheme. I saved it in the folder with the others. I restarted Poser, loaded him into the scene, opened Face Putty, and pushed the button to load the cage prop. It is still telling me no control cage exists for him. What am I doing wrong?
I googled the lock, it has to do with my Windows home network and it doesn't sound like it's relevant. Supposedly it means I can open it but nobody else can. I made another one that I saved in a different way, and manually changed the .obj to lower case to match the others, and I am still getting the message that no control cage exists for the figure. For the naming scheme I was going by what he's called in the scene, because it seems like they usually follow that, but I noticed there are a few cases where the figure and the cage aren't named the exact same thing and it still loads for them, so I was wondering if there's some other rule that I'm not aware of. I tried it with and without the space, and I also tried naming it just like the Michael 3 cage but with the 3 changed to a 4.

Renewing the question. In "face putty," from PhilC's Poser Tool Box, you can allegedly make a control cage for a figure that does not have one, but I have never seen an explanation of how. So I resize one of the existing cages to fit the figure, right? Which means what exactly, how well does it have to fit? Is there a special way/place to save it? Once I have made it, how do I make the plug-in understand that it exists, instead of telling me that it doesn't exist, go make one?
