could anyone recommend a water shader set for Poser? If not, does someone have a good tip for making a plane look like water?

Sorry for "butting in" but you can use Reality, you can't get any better water than that :)

Heheh. Probably true, Paolo. I haven't seen you do an ocean - can you set up the Poser ground plane like this, not just "plain" plane water, in Lux?

Hi bagginsbill.  Sure, it's possible. You can assign the Water type to any material.

Cheers.

Oh wow I love that image. I'm saving up for Reality. When I buy it, I have to buy for both Daz and Poser. I use both programs.

Paolo, clearly I did not ask if it was possible to apply a plain water shader. I asked "can you do it"? As in - do you have the settings and does Lux have the tools?

And so far your answer is how to make swimming pool water. I was asking about an ocean, with swells, large waves, foam, and thousands of sun highlights. I have seen the swimming pool water from Reality. It's nice, but frankly just as easily done in Poser.

Crystal clear water with just some mild ripples is not the only water shader that needs to exist.

What I'm trying to make clear: Making the wave shapes look realistic so that they catch the sun light correctly and have a believable shape (for large waves) is not easy.

This Ocean looks fantastic. Poser water is tricky. I fail all the time.  The last shader from BB for water, a water source shader, you can find here.
