Subject: I Don't Like Random Timing for 48 Hour Sales!

3dstories ( ) posted Wed, 22 April 2015 at 8:01 PM · edited Sun, 05 January 2025 at 11:32 AM

I just spent several hours going through your 48 hour sale. Then when I went to purchase along with the Expiring April 30th single use coupon, all of a sudden several items came up that weren't allowed. That put me over budget (They were Phil C items, software in retrospect). I had to go to work. When I came back I went to buy over $100+ worth of items on sale and..... They were Full price.

I spent an evening going through your list. An Evening.

Instead of being able to come home after work and finish what I started and had made time for I find that your sales go from.-to... 9AM?  what the heck?

Thanks for nothing, literally.

Don't expect me to look at your 9AM sales anymore.  There's a little over $100 specially put on a gift card for Renderosity Items I went through carefully that Renderosity is NOT going to get.

Sorry, but I am PO'd.

Actually make that closer to $150. With the 24% off it was a little over 100.  I really wanted the Phil C stuff on sale, too. By coincidence stuff I had been looking at over a longer period of time was in that 48 random hours.

Please stick to 11:59pm  time endings. To me it is really stupid and not fun to do random times unless you don't have anything better to do than sit on this site all day and read the fine print that goes along with your sales.  Hey if, you like that, here's an idea: start a sale on Day one. Have it valid Days 1, 3 and 5. Then start a second sale on day 2. Have it valid days 2, 4, and 6.  Then run a third sale, have it valid during the even hours on days 1, 3 and five and on the odd hours during days 2, 4, and 6.  Give PRIME 30% off $30 if they buy something between the half hour and the full hour, except the hour before and after 12:00.  Then repeat for the remaining days of the month with different vendors.  Sound fun?

I really needed the money for other things, anyway. This was (almost) an impulse buy, I'm just sorry I spent all my time carefully going through the sales list and correllating it with my budget. Sorry, Phil, Sorry Madddelerium, Sorry Vanda51, Sorry Zeddicuss, Sorry isle-avalon, Sorry Pixieluna, Sorry Simon 3D... and more.   That's time from Rendo I can't get back.

Finally, here, perhaps is a useful suggestion.  When you have a sale, the expiring time may be on a single page in the fine print. But the products you have on sale only have a date listed on the product page. When I am going through products that are part of a special sale I have no idea that there may be only a short time left or all day. The assumption when I see that an item expires April 24th is that it expires 11:59PM April 24th. Sometimes I never even go through the sale promo page - just through my wishlist and that triggers me to look at what else might be of interest.

If you're going to put a product on sale, and you expect me to time it to a random minute, please let me know the time, preferably both on the product page and in my cart.

Don't emulate DAZ on some of their things. They got too complicated with their promotions and that, combined with too many unlabled items that don't work easily in Poser (unless you read the details AFTER you click to the product page), is why Rendo gets more of my money typically.  It is a function of time spent. My time is valuable to me. If I spend too much time figuring out a sale and don't get anything I lose interest. If I get burned once or twice spending time with no reward, I'll still come back. If it looks like I may likely get burned on a regular basis, I won't.

One of the good things about DAZ is that when they have convoluted sales, quite often they make up for their complexity by having a cumulative 'Catch-Up' Sale at the end. So, if a customer got 'burned' when prices changed the company ultimately gets the opportunity to redeem themselves.

I'd like Renderosity to consider giving me and others the opportunity to buy some of the 48 hour stuff missed today in a catch-up sale before the single use coupon expires on April 30th.

Hi.

Thank you for the feedback. We do most of our sales at 12 am - 12 am. But we do like to change it up a bit from time to time. The 48 hours on these was to help with the time difference, as we had thought about doing them for 24 hours..but felt 48 hours gave everyone more time to see the announcements/advertising for them before they were over. These are different because they are FLASH sales and not our regular vendor group sales. I will take your suggestions for a way to up the exact ending time to the team to see if there is a way we can do that on future sales of this type.

And we do catch-up type sales often on the Exclusive Vendor Store Sales and other promotions, but like I mentioned above these are different because they are meant to be quick sales.
