Subject: Could Somebody Please Identify This Character

Fauvist ( ) posted Sat, 18 April 2015 at 6:26 PM · edited Thu, 19 September 2024 at 5:17 PM

This character is used by the Renderosity merchant named Tipol in several of her promos for products.  I have already tried asking her, but she doesn't respond.  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/mangadress/109224/  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/prettydress-for-victoria-4/108578/  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/molly-chubb-dress/104533/  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/easy-summer-dress/105189/file_0f28b5d49b3020afeecd95b4009adf4c.pn

Thanks!

file_42a0e188f5033bc65bf8d78622277c4e.pnThanks.  Having read some of the other threads in this forum it occurs to me that Tipol may never have received my question.  Tipol has given a product credit to a figure that she says she used for these images, but, looking at that character, it's obvious that isn't the character she used.

I'd almost bet money there are Thorne characters involved.

Daz, Blender, Affinity, Substance, Unity, Python, C#

I agree with Vaskania. Looks much like a Thorne character.

There are about 200 Thorne products.  I just email Tipol again and asked.  Maybe she didn't get my first messages.

Character identification request.

WwCould someone please identify the character featured most prominently (largest and wseveral smaller versions  on this promo page: wihttp://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/mystical-places-lights/98027/h varied hair color)

I questioned the promo's vendor, but was told they didn't remember. I saw a similar request had been answered successfully and was encouraged.

Thanks ever so much in advance,

Autprimus

In general it can be very difficult to identify which characters are used in promos as they can be both morphed and have a texture from another character applied. Some vendors have their own unique character

In this case I actually think there are two different characters, or at least two different textures (look at the eyebrow shapes/colors).

As for Thorne one of them might be or be based on Scotlyn (DAZ).

Also take a look at these:

Autprimus - your link doesn't work.  Check to see if the like is exactly correct, and/or provide the name of the product.

zenzai - I've had it with trying to guess what characters artists use in their promos.  These people are in business to sell 3D content and they can't even remember what products they use for their own promo images - it's like all too much trouble for them.  All modern 3D software programs will print out an inventory of what was used,so it's not like some effort is involved.  Half the time I never even hear back from vendors.  This industry is in real need of a lesson in customer service.  If a customer asks a question, you give them the answer.  If you don't know the answer, you find the answer and give it to them.  My conservative guess is that 3D congtent creators, DAZ3D, and Renerosity are probably losing bout 70% of their sales because they just can't be bothered.

They are by Seven, at least the first set is certainly, just write Seven and ask her which one of her girls it is. She skin on the second one isn't very 'Seven' in style, so that throws me off regarding the morph.

I agree, there are a lot of annoying problems in the 3D Content business. I write software which collects user data for offline use and downloads files from some of these sites, and the lack of standards in product and file naming, as well as in general product page info (or lack of same), bad or dead links, missing promos etc. is giving me a hard time. I have to make a lot of workarounds to make things work.

Dear Sabby,

Thank you so much for the direction to Seven. Your response is much appreciated. Hopefully we can identify the particular character used.

  Best Regards,

Autprimus

Fauvist, you've never contacted me, cause I've never not replied to a site mail that I know of. :) Unless the site mysteriously ate it. =P

Also, a lot of times, people try to credit the items using the site function, upload the product then the site eats the credits, and they don't notice until someone points it out and by then you may not remember what you used,

Sabby, you're wonderful, but I didn't contact you because the concensus in this forum was the characters I was interested in were by created by Thorne - if in fact everyone was wrong and you did create the, I'd be more than grateful to know the names of them.  Here they are (they're also posted in the first message in this thread)

As I mentioned those are not Thorne.they are Seven morphs. The second girl looks like Seven as well. I'm going skim her store and see if I can place that one.

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sv7-colby/94403/ this looks like the morph of the second render. That's why I said email Seven, she can usually spot her girls a mile away.

Tipol, the artist who made the promo renders I've posted, messaged me that they are Thorne morphs, with different textures, and she gave me the link http://www.daz3d.com/thorne .  I'd be overjoyed to find out what they are no matter who made them.

Sabby ( ) posted Fri, 24 April 2015 at 2:45 PM

Which one is thorne? The burly blonde haired ones? Cause none of thornes look like the pig tail one.

You're right!  That's the one!  I can tell from the eyebrows. Thanks you!

Sabby ( ) posted Fri, 24 April 2015 at 3:02 PM

I still say the top first one is Seven. Her noses are different from Thorne's. :) And the bottom one still looks like Colby to me.
