From Top view, select the object, cube or what ever, click on A then check "Show Origin Handle". A green Dot will appear which you then select and move to the position you require the hinge. Rotating the cube turns it about that point. Hope this is what you were trying to do.

D'oh...thanks so much...been a while since I made any 3D much less an opening door and brain cramped that...Have a great day where ever you are...sun's shining here....now.
Once
in a while I look around,
I see
a sound
and
try to write it down
Sometimes
they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

You're welcome. Here there be dragons... Haha... been quite warm here, southern half of France -- pushing 30C afternoon temps.

Welll...it's been a while and I have returned from music world for a project. I need to make opening doors out of cubes and cylinders. That's no problem but I have totally brain cramped on how to re-position the axis to the left side of the door/cylinder closure. I'll check in every 1/2 hour till I find out...thanks in advance folks...oh yeah....y all doin' well?...retirement to my true avocation (music) seems to suit me well. Still love 3D for the eyes and what it does to the brain though so I ain't a lost cause...
