A friend found this on youtube and really wanted me to go have a look at it. I'm posting this for you to have a look-see too. Watch it all the way through, trust me. :)

It has actually been featured many times on the SM poser blog and other sites including this one.   Unfortunately, Monty Oum, the creator, died earlier this year but it's been said that the series will continue as planned.

Here are some threads about it:

Thanks, I wasn't aware that its been mentioned on the SM Poser blog and I haven't been to the DAZ forums in about two years. I was just floored when I saw the end bit on that video. I've subscribed to the channel and will probably watch the rest of the series because I also love Anime.

RWBY Episode 1

Fantastic!!   Thanks for the link

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Be aware there will be a shift in look in Vol 2. Monty got Christine Nyugen as art director, and the bright color palette in the worldspace was muted down. On the other hand, the world looks much bigger, and has a nice modern-techno look to parts of it. And the figures got new rigs to work better with PPro 2014 and Bullet. When you get to the dnance number in season 2, that was Monty doing the mocap...

And if you think episode 1 is cool wait until you see ep 8. Heheheheheeee.

Amazing what our little tool is capable of, isn't it? The real hoot is that the figure assets are modeled in Maya, then animated and rendered in Poser. They do multipass rendering, so you get the figures, the background(s) ect.

Monty's death was out of the blue; routine surgery that he had a severe enough allergic reaction to that it left him comatose for a week before he died. Roosterteeth has said they will continue RWBY, as Monty had left behind several seasons worth of notes and plans, and that it would be a fitting tribute from them. Oh! He also did the animating from season 8 on of Red Vs. Blue...particularly the fight choreography. He may be gone, but the man has fired up at least one generation of aspiring animators...

I have both DVD's thanks to a friend of mine who saw my artwork and of course it moves you and makes you think, "I can do that!"  I got a lot of the same feel from Appleseed that Poser Characters were intertwined in the movie.

anyone know what the motor cycle is in the "Y" clip?

Basically, it's Yang's.

I'm sure they've identified it (and probably named it), but so far they haven't said anything about it.

Yep, he was one of the best Poser animators ever! I discovered him awhile back with his Dead Fantasy videos, also animated in Poser. https://www.youtube.com/user/montyoum/videos
