New Poser Users Help F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 22 10:03 am)
New to Poser? Ask questions here for expert help!
Gramps is a figure created by 3DUniverse.
Chocolate is a male Japanese 3d cg artist whose most recent work is a set for his figure Haru. Recent stuff by Chocolate is more adult oriented so probably the reason you're not seeing at Rendo, you can find new stuff at DLSite, a Japanese site, where the artist is known as Choco.
I just visited the site. I think that was Miki dressed as Chun Li that greeted me! A lot of flash games but no pure 3d modeling offering that I could see, although I did look quickly. Pity, I should've gotten Haru when I got the chance! I want less than super model perfect sometimes, a little more anime-ish.
By the way, I noticed they have 60,000 members and that doesn't count their offshoot sites! Chocolate007 isn't mentioned by name but I didn't look that hard.
I have both Natu and Haru, both are good niche figures... Haru is very much like a more advanced version of Natu. There is also a WM version of Haru.
You can purchase Haru from DLSite if you can pay yen, not sure how that works... just Google Haru Poser, you'll eventually find a link to the products at DLSite. I would provide a link but that might be a violation of Rendo TOS.

I joined the site (the english version) and had a good look around.
I just checked out both Natu and Haru. Though they are a little pricey,I do want them. Are they clothing compatible? Can Naru wear Hatu's clothing?
Haven't tested that, I'll take look tomorrow and get back to you. I doubt it though, they're definitely different figures... probably different rigs. Natu is a lot less polished than Haru, feels almost like a practice figure that eventually became Haru. To be honest I would pick up Haru, she has a lot more add on content, Chocolate made some really nice outfit sets/morphs/etc. for her and appears to continue supporting the figure. Shame she's not available here anymore... Oskarrson made a fantasy outfit for her too, and there are a couple of others who made stuff for her. I think she might be a bit pricey because she's bundled with some content. Definitely a unique figure.
Have you ever used Sera, Kururu, or Deco/Decoco? They're free Japanese anime style figures... a lot simpler and less realistic than Haru but I like them. There's a lot of free stuff for those figures (especially Kururu and Sera) by various artists at different Japanese Poser/DS sites. Sadly less now that PoserClub Japan has mysteriously disappeared. If you go down that path of Poser content collection make sure your browser translator is up to the task. I have a pretty large Runtime dedicated to Japanese Poser content, I like to collect the more marginalized Poser stuff... monsters, toons, etc.
I remember Sera, Kururu and Decoco! I think Kururu could even use A3's clothing. Haru, of course is going to get the use especially since she's been redone but I'd still like to know if she can use Natu's stuff. Like Sam and Sadie actually can interchange clothing pretty easily. Please give them the test and let me know.
Poserclub Japan was hacked. Badly. The admin was really distraught and the site is now barely viable. I'm no even sure it's the same site. A pity, Poserclub had some really cool stuff indeed.
I agree. I like using the more marginalized stuff as well as the standard v4 fare. Genesis 2 has some great stuff but I'd like it better if I didn't have to export clothing and morphs to Poser. I'm still having problems with that importer. (By the way, I'm getting some nice help from the DAZ people regarding the importer. Don't be hatin' people)
But stuff like Haru and Natu, Peterbilt, Gramps, they are really cool and help break up the standard fare.

I love figures like Peterbilt, Gramps et al. One of my favorite creators was Chocolate. What ever happened to Her?
