I'm not sure how to edit the Forum Description, but I will check into it. In the meantime, if anyone else has any ideas for a Forum Description, post them here, and then if I am able to edit it, we can pick the best one.

Hm.... well, if everyone agrees on a description, we can certainly incorporate it!

thanks for the bump, Hope!
here's the exact quote that Wolf mentioned:
"We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master." ... Ernest Hemingway
this would be my first choice. Anybody else want to vote and move this forward?
"If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough." ... Robert Capa
Kimberly removed the negative part of the old description and it looks much better now, but I think we should still decide on something that reflects on the written arts - there have been some very good suggestions. Maybe Jeff could just pick one... I'm good with any positive message.

So, do we agree on this quote, "Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass. ---Anton Chekhov" ???

I'm good with it. It's a good positive statement that embodies the very essence of the art of writing.

Sorry for not responding to this , but for some reason I haven't gotten any notifications for this thread in a couple of months. I like the Chekhov quote
Although my favourite Chekhov quote is "Klingons off the starboard bow, keptain!" lol I know, wrong Chekhov....

"A picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes a word is worth a thousand pictures....and then it came to a screeching halt - is writer's block contagious?"
The above has been the writer's forum description for a long time. Perhaps it's time for a new description. Perhaps some ideas could be posted for a new description.
My suggestion would be:
A picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes a word is worth a thousand pictures.... Stories, poems, plots, themes, characters, book reviews, discussions, writing tips, and positive exchange of writing related techniques.
