Subject: Saved figures no longer have morphs

DocMatter ( ) posted Mon, 13 July 2015 at 11:33 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 6:38 PM

Is this happening to anyone else?  I have PP2014 and lately I'm having to reinsert the morphs into the morphed figures I've saved into the Poser library.  This is happening with both V4 and M4 (I don't use the Genesis figures.)  Also, shouldn't I be able to inject all the V4 base morphs and the ++ morphs with just the click of 2 buttons from the Daz folder in the pose library?  I've tried that lately and its not working.  It's also not even adding the morphs that I add one at a time to the body.  They show up in the body parts, but no longer as body morphs.

It's annoying as hell.  I've tried reinstalling the V4 4.2++ morphs from Daz, but that didn't help.

I've had this happen too.  I'm using Poser Pro 2012.  Not sure what the cause is, yet.

This usually happens when you have the V4/M4 morphs installed in more than one runtime.  Did you, perhaps, install the morphs in 2 places?

Delete the 2nd installation and that should solve your problems.

That's probably it since Daz now has everything inside of a "content" folder for the Daz users which makes it not so easy to install for the Poser users.  I think there's a copy in the "Content" folder that Daz put it as well the regular Runtime folder I have to copy everything to

I'll try deleting one and let you know what happens.

It's weird, though, that it now it won't even let me install the FBMs into a blank V4 figure.  Grumble.

Unfortunately, that didn't take care of the problem.  I deleted every other copy I could find of the morph files, but for some strange reason, I can't inject the FBM into V4 anymore.  The PBM install okay (but you have to go to the individual body part to find the dial).  But morphs like amazon, bodybuilder, etc... won't load at all.  It doesn't matter if I use the "inject all ++ morphs button or try to install them individually.  The only FBM that show up are the Male morphs.

Help?

did you run the batch file that sets up the morphs after installation ?

Did you use pmd. files. My advise would be to nevertrust pmd files as your morph containers. I've also lost lots of morphs this way. Better save your morphs within the cr2 file.

What batch file?

How do I not use pmd files?

DAZ morph installation requires you to run an initialization file every time you install morphs.  It should be located at:  runtime libraries !DAZ and named DzCreateExpFiles-V4.bat

When you are installing paid content with morphs, you have no option on using pmd files or not.  You should ignore that statement in this instance as you have no control over the option here.

Even if I'm running poser?

Yes

That seems to have done the trick.  Thanks!

Don't know why it got messed up in the first place.  Hmmmm.......?

My guess is you had it installed in 2 different places and the batch file couldn't find the correct runtime.  If you don't run the initialization properly the morphs are not going to work properly.
