Renderosity has several options. It could keep things as stated, losing a lot of Prime customers who feel burned during the next renewal. It could have something else replace some of the lost perks. Ideally, giving away a gift certificate each month at random to random Prime members would be nice but could be a problem. I would suggest if not a gift certificate, a coupon (and I'm not talking cut back on coupons, this would be in addition to normal coupons going out). If it was a coupon (of various amounts per month) you could actually give the coupon to more than one random Prime member. Say 10 random Prime members (with previous winners having their odds reduced each time they won so you won't have someone winning three times in six months). It would generate some good will among Prime members.

Problem with random is it is only good to those who win and you couldn't possibly afford to keep everyone happy or feeling that carrot at the end of the stick is worth the membership. I am not familiar with Renderosity's Premium If I wan't something I buy it as 9/10 times I am passing the cost to customer and I look after them enough already,  never looked into it at any depth. Have you tried or do you have a Premium Point based system ? - The more the member spends the more points accumulated that way each member is inclusive and as it is a cent or two at purchase point, it spreads the burden of cost over the entire period 3/6/12 months with a credit certificate sent out on the due date. Gives incentive and fair to the whole premium membership base. Covers Rendo since the customer has to spend to receive in the first instance. Seen people buy a toaster and being more concerned about their frequent flyer points they are accumulating than whether they are paying too much for the toaster so I am pretty sure psychologically the system works.

Premium point systems work if customers work well if the customers think they are getting value. The Prime club doesn't strike me as being based on that as there are no benefit points to be cashed in for the more you spend. The main value was the Prime items; a select set of items that were sold that were just textures (*looks at competing store club with disappointment) or clothes with just one texture given an arbitrary higher price to give the impression of a greater value of savings (*looks again at competing club with disappointment again). There were (and still are) some top notch items. Granted, it wasn't a vendors whole store, or anything like that.... There were (and still are) coupons that are at a somewhat higher discount than regular ones, as well as space for uploading more images. There also was a cash back savings of 5% based on how much you spent (which had to be $100 or more), which is kind of similar to Premium Points (in the idea) but only really of value to those that shop a lot.

Prime could have a members preview of a set of sale items before they get posted to the store (which if the items are at full price, that's really not a good idea). They (Renderosity) could make a deal with vendors who participate in a sort of Prime Members decide on product build. I imagine the vendor should get a larger share of their money as they are doing the work, but if the Prime Members have input into a product they want (ideally with quality work) and intend to buy it could be very lucrative in sales (assuming the sales price wasn't marked up to unreasonable amounts). 

The problem is customers prepay for a year for a series of perks which are not the same as previous years. Most of the information of the changes came after (or exceedingly close) to when renewals were due. In not Renderosity communicating changes and new (if there are) benefits very well, many, many Prime members feel burned. That is practice guaranteed to lose business.  The store has already lost some business in people waiting to see (and learn) what will happen next.

Yeah people have to have a clear image of what they are receiving for their membership it can be hard enough to keep some happy even when in black and white. Is Prime here paid for 12 months in advance or do you commit to the 12 months but have it taken quarterly or some installment plan.?

Given the changes, I think you may have saved more money. $30 spent using a coupon or specifically on something you want rather than prime so far seems like a better move.
